I think I used to be on this board a few years ago. A couple names look familiar. I used to have a zinc yellow 01 Cobra with a big bore stroker and a couple different blower set ups. I ended up getting over that car and picked up a 2004 Mystichrome Cobra. Which was really my dream car anyway. If anyone is curious I'll post the full story sometime.

Anyway, the reason I searched the forum out is because my son picked up a 1998 GT. It's a decent car, but with 153k on the odo it's no spring chicken. I figured it would be good to have a place to hit up for info since I haven't played with a 2V since 2005.

Welcome! I love the mystichrome cobras. That GT looks nice and clean too, the 2v should be easy to work on if you're used to the 4v

Sweet cobra! What's the story on the '98? Got any plans for it?

The 98 has 153k on the clock. It came with Eibachs, KYB AGX's, no name CC plates, under drive pullies, Mac intake, Flowmasters, and a Bassani catted X with two extra cats welded in. I was assuming the extra cats were to help it pass smog. It's currently an auto, but he's trying to find a job so that he can save some money and do a manual swap this summer. We swapped it over to Cobra front brakes last weekend.

I think the long term plan is to 4V swap it and make it a race/drift car. But he's 17 and I'm sure his mind will change more than once.

I'm actually good now. I do check out the exotics like the GTR, but I don't "have to have one". I also picked up an F250 after my Expedition was totaled. So on the vehicle front I'm good. I'd really like to get a toy hauler and a couple quads. But I need more property first.
