Hi everyone! I've finally decided to build my first track only car, after doing HPDE in my DD for the last couple of years. I have a soft spot for SN95s, as my first car (and Mustang) was a 96 V6 (yes, barely a mustang, I know). So I'm thinking of picking up a 96-98 GT or Cobra to strip down and turn into a track only car. I've done a ton of research on suspension upgrades, but I still haven't decided if I want to spend extra and start with a cobra, or buy a super cheap GT, drive it until the motor dies, then swap in a 4v or 3v 4.6. Right now, I'm probably looking at TT with NASA, but I won't rule out AX, AI, SI, or CMC, or something of the like in a few years.

Right now I daily a 2016 Mustang GT PP, and I love it, but I'm getting too nervous to drive it hard at the track... :emotions122:

I know an SN95 won't be the fastest platform to start with, but as I said, nostalgia et al.

So after reading around this forum, I'm considering doing a PI head/intake/cam swap instead. If I'm going that far for a track car, should I just pull the motor and do a full rebuild at the same time?

Thanks! My head is spinning now - PI head/cam/intake swap, PI engine swap w/ diff cams... so many decisions to make. Looking for about 300-330rwhp to put me in about TT4 in NASA after weight reduction, etc.
