High Miles + N2O = Bad Idea?

Hey guys, I just picked up a 95 GT. Its got 176,xxx miles on it but i wasn't real concerned with that when I bought it because I will be starting on a 393w to go in it. But before I get that built I still wanna go fast and I just happen to have a nitrous kit laying around. I'm afraid to put it on though because it has so many miles, and I don't want to blow it up because I would like to drive it while I'm building the motor that way its not just taking up space the whole time. I was thinking that if I did a compression check on the motor and it checked out OK it probably wouldn't hurt to spray on it? I dunno, what do you guys think? BTW I'm looking to spray 100 shot, maybe 150 if I decide to get wild one night haha

As long as the motor checks out with a compression and leakdown test, and your jetting is appropriate, and your fuel supply is in good shape, and you spray in the appropriate RPM range, you'll be just fine.

Thanks for the quick reply. How do you perform a leakdown test? I planned on changing the fuel pump and filter when I put the juice on just to be on the safe side. That should do it for my fuel system. I also have an MSD Digital window switch so it wont spray too high in the rpm range. So I should be good to go

You can by the leakdown testers online, and they include instructions. I've only done it once at a friend's house because that's one tool I don't own (yet) but I don't remember it being too difficult.

Alright thanks. I'll look into that. Any one else have any opinions on the subject? Just looking for opinions. I think it will be alright as do many other people that Ive talked to, but more opinions are always good.

as long as you do it right with enough fuel and enough safe timing pulled, you will be good and appropriate sparkplugs of course, just spray it bro....have fun

working on a deal for a Digital 6 box. That way it will pull the timing for me instead of having the timing pulled all the time. Hopefully I can get a good deal on that. Id say the most I'll spray is a 150 shot...should I go one step colder plugs or two? Got my bottle filled today too. waiting for a nozzle though, as my kit was a carbed plate kit. It should be here Monday or Tuesday I would say, and then its on like donkey Kong :dancing6:

oh and since my kit was for a carbed car I'll have to use a smaller jet for the fuel, correct? because of the difference in fuel pressure? Does anyone know what jets to use for a 100 and 150 with an NOS Cheater kit?

You might as well call the manufacturer of your kit they will tell you the adequate jetting for your nitrous kit. as for me i'm running a stock 94 gt with like 150k miles on the clock and a 175 shot of nitrous with a 37 jet on the vacuum regulator and a 73 jet on hte nos fogger.... yea any questions you got about the msd 6 digital just let me know i just installed it like a week ago man that thing is freaking awesome. no more little stumbling on the sn95 it all good now. yea you should get colder plugs preferably 2 steps colder.

It really got rid of the little stumbles? I was thinkin there was something wrong with my car because every now and then it would have a slight miss. Its very intermittent though so I never checked anything because I didnt know what to check haha

Parts i installed: motorcraft asf32c plugs, Taylor Pro race 10.4mm wires(they are huge), msd TFI coil, msd cap and rotor, and msd digital 6 box. The car runs so steady i think its off sometimes. it is great br, any help you need hit me up.
