I have a 97 gt with an MMR 1100 shortblock, ported/polished P.I. heads, stage III cams etc. I'm running a 175 wet shot with 3.73's in the rear, and with M/T drag radials. The other night I launched at 4k with 10 lbs. in the tires, and got a 1.8 60'. By the time I was at the top of fourth gear (6500) I wasn't even close to the finish line! I had to let off due to the car bouncing off the limiter and coasted to a 12.1 @ 109... Does this sound right for having 3.73's? And would upping the limiter to 7k or more be safe? Thanks!

Redline is at 6850 rpm's as I remember. I wouldn't go past 7000 or so. Sounds like the gear ratio is a little too deep. 3.55's??

Matybe it was 6850, I thought it was 6500 lol, but I was paying attention to letting off. I was thinking about going down to 3.55's, but I have completely forged internals, so I was thinking it could handle a tad more than 7k?

The stock limiter is at 6250, and it's a fuel cut off, you don't want to hit it on the sauce.

What size tires, and at what air pressure?

Whether you can safely raise your rev limiter to 7k is up to your valvetrain and crank.
