I SHOULD have my car back tomorrow... so if all goes well (which it probably wont) I will be hitting up the track on the 30th and the 1st.... My car makes around 450-460 + hp to the wheels. I make a little bit over 400 tq... No real weight reduction... just removal of the front sway bar.... I will be using my 26x11.5x17 ET Streets at 10 psi... What kind of times do you guys think I will hit? I want a 12.0 since its my first time out with slicks... some of my buddies say I'll be faster... but who knows. :thumb: I just hope the car is ready by track time.
Re: Hitting up the track... Should be around 11.5-12's @ 115 since you are using slicks but watch out for breakage. Let us know what you run.
Re: Hitting up the track... Not too sure bout wheelie pics on heavy arse 03 cobra rims.. If I had some skinnies up front.. then maybe. Who knows though... Im just hoping the tranny is done...
Re: Hitting up the track... First time at the track with the car.. I'd be happy with a low low low low 12... to 12.0 11s are definitely possible.... car wise.
Drove the car 6 hours to the nearest track to run... and stayed for FOUR days. Only got to race 1 out of the 4 days.. Oh well......rain sucks. Before it got busy I got a few runs in.... I never miss gears on the street... for some reason I think subconsciously I was afraid of breaking that 3-4 shift fork again... so I was granny shifting like crazy or missing gears.. I got a few good runs in without missing gears.. but granny shifting. I think my best was a 12.1 at around 112ish... with a 1.6 60ft. I ran a bunch of low 12s consistently.. Launching at 4000 I got consistent 1.6s... I launched at 5K and would spin my ass off to a 1.8..I need to go back and do a 4500 launch. I finally grew the balls and said screw it. I am going to bang gears and if it breaks... it breaks. My last run before the track I lined up next to my buddy with a SRT-4 and stage 3...bolt ons.. gutted..slicks. We launch... and I am ahead about a car.... slam 2nd and have a great shift... still ahead.. slam 3rd.. oh man another great shift... and boom out of no where.. the car gets sideways... and I let off completely.... straight out.. gas it again... and it starts to fish tail again.. Let off and get back on it and finish the race. I did a 12.4 at 111... which is almost my best trap... (well close and I had to let off a few times) My buddy ran a 11.9..... I have no doubt in my mind if I wouldn't of had to let up.. It woulda been a 11.8 atleast.. Did I mention a top fuel guy spewed oil in that lane earlier.. Guess it wasn't COMPLETELY cleaned up.. needless to say I almost shit myself. I was disappointed that I didn't get to run again to get my 11... but I am still content.. my first time with a RWD and I consistently cut 1.6 60s.... There is always next time.. and I will get my 11s Ill have video up later.. I am going to bed.... but heres a few pics. Nice and oily ;(
nice times...just remember, you hit those times with your first time at the track in the BAB. Imagine Next time O0
I think I'll have my XCAL before the next trip... plus I know what to do now.... A 4000-4500 shift and just bang the crap out of the gears.... in the videos you can see me nose dive every shift... shows how damn slow I am shifting. The girl filming didn't get my 12.1 runs my 11.0 run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQwo2rH_zJY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyeIR5c09N4
Forgot to include details Tires: Front 275/45/17 BFG Geforce KDW @ 40 psi Rear 26/11.5/17 ET Streets @ 10 psi Nothing removed minus the spare tire. Front/rear sway bars still in.. Full interior. I removed my back seat the other day... but didn't run afterwards. I mainly did that because I don't want anyone to ride back there with a cage.... Next time = tuned / no front sway bar
Great times, pics and vid and thanks for sharing the details for us to learn from. Looks awesome going down the track!
