I was wondering what was up with the hood. You can fit a 1/2" spacer and still keep the hood at stock height. Just looks broken the way it is now.
its a 1 inch spacer.

thats really not a good pic of the hood though. i can barely see the color.
ill take one up close as soon as i get off work...

Wanna trade?? lol i dont want black!
trade huh...? car was a gift from my dad before he passed away

I know you have a 1" spacer, I was asking why you don't go down to a 1/2" so that the hood can close normally? The difference in the two would have to be minimal, but your hood would not look so wierd sticking up in back.

Cool. Any tips on how to get the paint sprayed on evenly? Is it the quality of the paint/- The specific brand name or manufacturer? I have had 0% luck with even distribution across my sets of taillight bezels.

Robb, its just finess. I consider myself an excellent spray painter, it just takes a bit of practice. I look at parts I painted years ago and chuckle because of their quality compared to what I can do now :)

The biggest problem I see is people try to put too much on at a time, and expect to get show-quality paint right out of the can and that just can't happen. I have done alot of interior pieces and some under the hood and been really happy with them but it was not with out rubbin them to make them pretty. I am about to post pics of my finished gauge pod and its as nice a black as I have seen on any other car inside or out, but there was alot of sanding involved.

When laying down the color, start really light with the can further away from the piece. Use two coats to build up the color but more importantly leave it a rough/satin texture. When you go back for the 3rd coat, now you can get it good and wet and get full coverage with the texture of the first two coats to help hold it and color it. If you do not know how to wet-sand, get some 1000/1500/2000 grit and some water and start rubbin...

Good god learn to align that hood. It looks like it's sitting on top of a factory hood that's bolted down.
