I pretty much destroyed my hood cowl yesterday taking it off. My Q is would it be easier putting it back on with the hood off? I have no problem removing those 4 bolts and the hood if it means an easier installation and this new one not breaking.

I'm prolly gonna order it off 5.0 resto for friggen $175 and a new set of nozzles, anybody know if its OEM ford for both?

i broke mine to taking the hood off for the first time.

i saw the price on that new one from them too, f-that.

I went to the local junkyard, found a few, but they were either way to faded, or had smaller problems with them.

finally i got one from a guy, i believe on this site, that was parting out his car for 50 bucks.

i would look around at classifieds on different sites and look for a car thats being parted out, you can find them all the time.

here, modularfords.com , stangnet.com , corral.net , svtperformance.com , there are lots of mustang forums around. just google it. you'll find one cheaper than the price of a new one.

You broke it even after you took the hood off? Or because you didn't?

1996mustangGT : is it like new or old?

I broke mine when I took it off, got the passenger side bolt for the hood out, and of coarse it flew way up under that thing, figured I could lift it up a little bit and squeeze my hand in there to grab the bolt, nope. it was old, and brittle, as soon as I pulled up on it the smallest bit, it snapped.

should've went a grabbed the magnet first thing.

Use washer fluid only.... no water.
Clean the whole system like a coffee maker! Run some vinegar through it every once in a while.
