Is the hood scoop on the 01 Bullitts part of the hood or is it a separate stick-on piece? I'm thinking of putting one on my 1999 GT as I like that aggressive look but only if I can just buy a stick on scoop, I don't want to replace the hood, what are people's thoughts on these scoops? Anyone know where I can get one? My car below, opinions welcome

Yeah i'm not usually a fan of plastic stick on accessories but I just think the 01 Bullitt hood looks great

pretty sure the hood scoop on the later new edge mustangs are just stuck on over the 99-00 hood. at least that's what I've always heard.

Close. I have a '00 GT and have the same hood. You can buy a replacement scoop off of ebay for $200 ish. THey have 8 bolts that you need to drill into the hood to put on. They are NOT just taped on, and please dont get the xenon scoop, its stupid.

I was just looking at a kit for your car in cj's pont parts. I didn't look close enough for a price but they had them there to where it looked like you could modify the GT hood and bolt on the rest.

Lol just did this a few months back.

Actually bought the scoop off a bullitt in a salvage yard. There's two plastic tab pieces used in the factory for alignment I would assume. then 6 bolts that hold it on. Two bolts are at a weird angle and are a real pain to get right. IMO mine's not perfect, however, when the car gets painted I'll have the shop get it on just right.

I say get it, our cars look so much better with them.

Yea, just triple the price of what he would have had to spend, then get it painted.

It was pretty clear he was trying to not spend a million dollars.

Yeah I know.I know at latemodelrestoration they have them for around 200 if I remember correctly. I would just call the local junk yards. I'm sure someone would have one already painted that will match.

I agree. And I'm sure you could pick one up without painting it at a junkyard for about $100
