hey guys... can someone explain to me how car shows work?

what kind of car qualifies?

are there divisions for various cars?

is it about performance or look or both?

Maybe there is a good site that would help me understand? wasn't able to find anything very good....

it depends on the car show but i think most of the big car shows have classes for different cars like classes for completely original cars that are stock and classes for modified cars or clones and various other classes but if your car doesn't look good i doubt you will win any of them

Okay, thanks.... I have even looked at some show websites and have had a hard time finding any info. I would like to find out more info on the specifs of what those categories are and how they are defined.

The only way to get specifics on any show class is to ask the organizers

Every car show I've been in and been to, are in all basics, a bunch of cars and car guys getting together and showing off their rides. They will usually judge them and all that on different categories depending on the event, but its all about kicking back, enjoying the nice cars, and having a good time.

That's more of a cruise night, I've been to tons of those where it's organizer or peoples choice for tropies

A true show has a points system based on different criteria (paint clarity, originality, interior carpet, seats, etc) which are tallied by multiple judges then final scores determined be combination of the scores

Well I meant in a very general sense. I've been in a few sure enough car shows, but it still all boils down to showing off your car and having a good time. The judging will vary from event to event, but the basics are all the same.
