what does your water temp get to on a hot day with the AC on? yesterday it was about 100* outside. i had my AC on, and i drive somewhat spiritidly. amd my car was showing right below 240*. i have a 180* thermostat and thats exactly what my car runs out when its nice out without the ac on.

is 240* too hot? remember my car is .060 overbored.is an all aluminum radiator in need?

yes that is too hot. it should be at MAX about 220 but should be lower still. an aluminum radiator would probably do you good. or an electric water pump.

btw mine stays over the R in NORMAL :hammer:

I don't have a temp gauge on this car..

My old 92 Fox had an autometer temp gauge.

I had a 180* thermostat and it used to sit right below 200* on a hot day.

when the ac is off and its nice out, my needle sits between the O and the R in NORMAL. when its hot out (90*+) with the ac off it runs dead center, and when the ac is on it runs between the M and the A

turning the a/c on should cool the engine down cause the dryer or evap or whatever it is has to be below a certain degree of heat to work the best. so once you turn on your a/c the car will try to cool the car down more.

Having the heater on cools the engine down. Having the heater on is like have a little radiator with a fan blowing air across it in addition to big one up front; just this one is in your dash!

too hot.... way too hot.
my gt sits between the n and the o with ac off and just over the r with ac on.
but i'm running my stock 13 year old fan with slightly lower on/off temps programmed in. stock replacement water pump and radiator and a 180 stat even though everyone told me it'd never stay cool because of the stroker setup. hahaha
that overbore is pushing the temps up.

WTF are you talking about? Turning the AC puts a load on the engine.

Fluidyne is a good brand name. I know americanmucle.com carries the Mishimoto's and dollar for dollar you can't beat them. They are 200 bucks shipped. Not sure about the shipping cost to the UK though.

I have the original stock water pump but I have a 180* t-stat in there and a Mishimoto Radiator from American Muscle. I live here in Houston where it is a good place most of the time to test for cooling issues and it was a hot day yesterday, very hot!!! I can drive around in that kind of weather with A/C on and the temp gauge just touches the "R" and sometimes covers the first leg of the "R". On cool days when its in the mid to high 80's I can run all day dead on the "O" without the A/C on. I have the fan programmed to come on at 190*.

I always thought my car still ran a little too hot but after reading yall's post then in this heat I'm not doing too bad.

Good Luck, feel free to ask any questions on the radiator and what not.

ZERO problems since I installed my Mishimoto radiator!

I guess everyone is swearing by that Mishimoto radiator now...Is it because they are aluminum and look similar to the Fluidynes?

How much are they? Like 2 bills?

I dunno... I'm having good results with my 1800radiator stock replacement piece.... 105 bucks shipped to my door.

Running it on a 325 rwhp NA stroker car and on the Rotrex Cobra... no issues. But to each their own.

And Fluidynes are ok...until they start to leak. And yes...they WILL leak, its a matter of "when" not "if". Thats ridiculous considering what they cost. I wonder if the Mishimotos are actually a Fluidyne design or a no name version of their radiators? They do look very similar.... and seeing as American Muscle is really pushing them now and Fluidyne's plant is right near them.... hmmmm
