I guess everyone is swearing by that Mishimoto radiator now...Is it because they are aluminum and look similar to the Fluidynes?

How much are they? Like 2 bills?

I dunno... I'm having good results with my 1800radiator stock replacement piece.... 105 bucks shipped to my door.

Running it on a 325 rwhp NA stroker car and on the Rotrex Cobra... no issues. But to each their own.

And Fluidynes are ok...until they start to leak. And yes...they WILL leak, its a matter of "when" not "if". Thats ridiculous considering what they cost. I wonder if the Mishimotos are actually a Fluidyne design or a no name version of their radiators? They do look very similar.... and seeing as American Muscle is really pushing them now and Fluidyne's plant is right near them.... hmmmm

So far, everyone that has one, loves them. I plan on getting one.

I got mine because I NEEDED a radiator. There was a design flaw with the 96 radiators. I had already gone through 2 of them. Saw the Mishimoto for 200 shipped and ordered it. Could not have been happier with my choice.

Well after a quick little bit of check-up work I'm pretty sure its not a no-name version of fluidyne.... For some reason I thought American Muscle was the place out here in Cali which is pretty close to the Fluidyne plant.

They seem to be well done, but I guess only time will tell if people start getting pinhole leaks in them. Still a lot of money for a radiator considering the stock one goes pretty far as long as you keep it in good condition.

I agree. My stocker has 166k on it and does a damn good job.

These are made in Delaware I believe. Mine has been on my car for almost a year now and it has been the BEST thing I could for it. Before with the stock type radiator, when it would get hot out, if I turned my AC on it would overheat. I replaced everything short of the radiator before I realized the radiator was the issue. 200 bucks and I can run my AC in 95+ degree heat with zero problems.

just remember, my motor is .060 (308) so its going to run a little hotter than the average bear.

also, NEVER buy Fluidyne Radiators! There is a thread on the corral with over 10 people saying they had leaks within a couple of months. they all got new ones uner warranty, but those ones leaked too. they are too expensive to leak.

i really want a steeda radiator, but also too expensive, so mishimoto or ebay brand is the way i'm going to go

What about Fluidyne and Be Cool?

Just wondering whats the best for the money, most places i order from dont stock Mishimoto.

Fluidyne is a good brand name. I know americanmucle.com carries the Mishimoto's and dollar for dollar you can't beat them. They are 200 bucks shipped. Not sure about the shipping cost to the UK though.

Looks like Be Cool then, american muscle dont ship to the UK.

turning the a/c on should cool the engine down cause the dryer or evap or whatever it is has to be below a certain degree of heat to work the best. so once you turn on your a/c the car will try to cool the car down more.

WTF are you talking about? Turning the AC puts a load on the engine.

that's how our vette works. it's got a digital gauge that shows you where it's at, and we were having problems with the fans not coming on for a LONG time. and the only way we could get them to come on was turn the a/c on. we got it all fixed and now it sits at 190-200 idling with a/c off and 175-185 sitting with the a/c on. not tune or anything :dunno:

i've never even looked at mine to test to see if the heat goes up when the a/c goes on...

My car usually sits between the O and R in normal. I've seen it up to half-gauge maybe twice. Replaced the water pump and thermostat as preventative maintenance when we did the PI intake.

The reason the fans come on when you turned the A/C on is because it put more load on the engine making it hotter....

You can adjust the temperature you want the fans to come on with a tuner if you want.

my cars stay pretty regular, sometimes on a super hot day the 98 with max ac on rollin along at about 80 will get to the L on the gauge, otherwise it stays right in the middle. The 95 hasn't gotten past R the whole time i've owned it :dunno: But the race car likes to run hot as a bi**h, depending upon the day and temp it will run hot on you, even with the black magic fan.

I run around 210* city driving with a Fluidyne Radiator and 160* thermostat. I usually dont let it get that hot though. If it gets above 180* I flip on my fan switch.

My 95 GT with H/C/I, Fluidyne, 180 t-stat, and 50/50 water/coolant mix cruises at around 175 and will get to about 180-185 idling. Sometimes on a hot day possibly 190 but thats rare.
