This is my fourth Mustang. I've had two 5.0's and two 4.6's. My current Mustang I bought in March, 2003. It's a '96 GT and was stock down to the paper air filter and stock shifter. The car was from Florida so there's no rust on it and it had 70K on her. I'm the third owner. The car had a leaking intake manifold (which was replaced under the Ford recall) and the guy I bought it from didn't know any better so I bought the car for $2,400 cash. :dancing6: Current mods: PI swap, K&N FIPK, BBK h-pipe, Flowmaster exhaust, Tri AX shifter, and a King Cobra clutch.

Well I bought my car Sept 8 2006. I couldnt drive it legally with out an adult until May 15 2007. Anyway I picked it up and it had O/R H with FLows, UDP, CAI. Since then I have gotten 4.10s in it, Nitto 555s, New brakes, New shocks and struts, PI intake, King Cobra Clutch and a few little things.

Whats on the porch is different though. PI heads, Pi cams, and BBK shorties. Selling the shorties, Getting heads ported, custom cams, and BBK LTs!! Hope fully be on by February!

got my 96 in Feb 97 when i was 19...it didn't sell in 96. one man's trash... it was a gts, priced $16.5k...the new 97s on the lot were going for like 23/24k so it was a no-brainer. the $325 payment/month killed my on newbie enlisted military salary, but i did it. the car is my life as well. it's giving me fits right now though after pi cam/intake swap. all in all, i cannot complain, this car has been great to me. cracked intake cover under recall, and leaking rack and pinion (just happened) are the only major issues. got 92,500 miles now cuz it sat for 3 years while i was stationed overseas. i bought a 87 fox body lil over a yr ago. i just love americane rear-drive v-8s.

i didnt buy my car new...

i bought it May 21st 2006 5 days before my 16th birthday (got a loan for 10k for it) so ive had it a little over a year. when i got it it was bone stock, and i thought it was a badass little car, but i didnt know much of anything about them. in the year ive owned it, ive purchased 3 different pi intakes 1 set of pi cams, cobra r hood, 3 different sets of wheels and tires, s281 spoiler, ford c springs, 2 different nitrous kits, and its supercharged now. i think ive done pretty good with it so far, just wish i still had a pi intake to go on it...

Yep, well my question is... if you bought this model of mustang and your doing that much work on it and your 16/17... where the f**k are you getting the money from ?? I'm 22 and i can bearly aford a set of head gaskets ... Anyway, with that kinda money i would have bought the cobra or something lol. Nice car though.

i'm his age.. and you'd be suprised. I made 10 bucks an hour this summer.. plus overtime i earned that week. I'd get my check, about 375-400, and it would be gone that night on parts.. i kept maybe 50-100 for gas/food, but i would eat cheap, and drive little. Therefore, how i still have money saved up that im about to spend and all the junk done to the car now. Paid for it all myself :D Dad bought the car last summer june 12, 2 days before my birthday (16th birthday). He bought his lightning a couple months ago, and was getting rid of V, basically bone stock, except for mufflers and some bullet wheels and tint. I got it in april/may time, and have done alot pretty quick. in essence i paid like, 5000 for it credit wise (traded a ranger and 83 GT for it).

Depends on your location, I know the economy in the Midwest is hurting, that's why I'm not there. Then there's the classic "lie your ass off on your resume", if you can pull it off.

marble place.. made overtime as well. BUT downside, if i worked over time so much, i could never work on the car. i was making 8 an hour at the junkyard, got offered 10 at the marble place, and then offered 14 over at firestone, but couldn't make it on the fact i had to start school :(

The Mustang is my wife's, and no, she didn't buy the '66 new. 8) She was born in 1966 though. She had to wait until we had been married for 18 years before we were in a position to consider getting a toy.

My first car was a 1968 Charger that I bought in 1982 when I was 18 for $1,000 that I saved from my dishwashing job making $3.50 an hour. Now my toy is a 1973 Australian XB Falcon that, like the wife's Mustang, I had to wait 18 years after we were married to be in a position to get a toy. Yup, three kids.

I ordered mine new in 96. it arrived in October, I think. :bunny3:

Did CAI, underdrives, gears, removed silencer, and rewired the fogs. basic mods for a poor collage kid.
few years later I did the Roush body kit, and mufflers.
PI headswap in 99. Finally got new wheels in 01.

then waited a number of years for the money to go crazy and do the motor for serious boost and upgrade the suspension!
Too many mods to list now, but it's been a fun and loooong project. :)

well i bought mine in march for 8k with 62k.

owners story was he knocked up his wife and bought a surburban.. had flows and air silencer removal.

i work at target, which is a block away from my house. i started that job on valentimes day and had been saving money for the down payment ever since then, walking to and from work.

since i've had it i put a orh, mac cold air, mgw shifter. system, 3 sets of tires... yada yada and plenty of track times

i love my car though, seriously. can't wait to get some serious mods in there.
