After owning three camaro's (83Z28, 92RS and 92Z28), I bought my 96 GT May of 06 with 80K miles from the second owner. Mostly stock with the exception of some chasis upgrades. I added JLT CAI, 70mm throttle body, off-road X-pipe, Flowmasters, 17 inch Bullit wheels, B&M short throw sfifter and various cosmetic stuff. Paid $5000.00 for it.

I bought my 96 GT used in 99 with 60K on the clock for 10K in mint condition.
I only had some bolt on's I put on the car.I sold my mustang because I had
alot of problems with it.
My Subaru has been a excellent car so far with no problems yet and
I get slightly better MPG. :naughty:

He looked shocked and i laughed and said that the book value is right at 9,500 so what was he refering to? lol. Anyway, i guess i'll keep this car till i die. 8)

Well this dealer has a bunch of Roush 427rs, a Saleen Parnelli Jones edition, and two GT500's. The manager was a bit flustered when I offered to go title for title with anything he had on the lot >:D Probably thought I was just an idiot though.

I bought mine new in Oct 96. The first thing I did was weld in flowmasters and a drop in K&N. I've added and removed mods over the years.

I had the NPI for 35,660 miles and now have an aluminum block PI at 41,880 miles. I puled the 4r70w for the 5speed swap like in 98 or 99.

I put so much time and cash in this thing that I couldn't ever sale it. It's just going to be a toy for me to play with now. I plan to shave more weight and add more power of course. :D

Aztec Gold, Dee Violet, Orange Tangerine, and Chrome Yellow I think were the rarest of the colors for the 96-97 Mustangs.

Anyone know where we can look at the production numbers on cars by color?

First car:
'66 Mustang Coupe-289 C-Code 2 bbl with a C4 auto and factory AC. Emberglow exterior/parchment interior.
Bought it as a literal "basket case". Spark plugs, rotor, cap, condenser, points, and a carb freshening job later it was ready to go...drove it until some punk kid pulled out in front of me in his Tempo, and that tore it up pretty bad...I still have it-just can't seem to part with it.
Replaced that with an '84 Mercury Lynx(put an SVO cam in it when I had to replace the cylinder head),and drove that for a few years until I bought my first n ew car-a '95 Probe GT. Kept that until we had our first child, and the laws of real estate kicked in and I had to have something bigger. Tbird it was,and I've had it since.

bringing back an old dead thread....
as long as i can remember ive wanted a fox mustang or a probe for a new daily driver. i was stationed on a base that almost every corner you could see a nasty cammed fox. a coworker had a 98 white vert. we lived close to budd's creek/MIR. i was driving around baltimore on a random night and came across the 96. i taught myself to drive manual in her. my first mod was the hurst short throw. a year later ive done quite a bit with the suspension and building a motor. i was bit from the bug early.

well ill keep it going.

my grandad and I bought my first car when i was 10. I was young but i knew i wanted a "Bullitt" like the movie. He was a mechanic that had his own shop so it was plausable at the time for him to buy something that needed 6 years worth of work for me to have when i got my liscence.

So he went junk-yard hunting. And came up with a '69 fastback. I had been in there for god knows how long, had been rolled over and then dropped off to rot. The best thing was that it had a 351, 4 speed, and all original pieces were intact, not pretty, but intact. so he towed it home and He and I (mostly him) began the rebuild. I would help as i could at that age, handing him tools and whatnot. and over the years it came together. I still remember the day we started it for the first time. We tried to get it running first off. it had no exhuast, just headers at the time, and it sounded awesome. he bent some tubing, welded up so cherry bombs, and called it good. all the drivetrain was complete. not pretty, but running and driveable. then we sourced some TT2's for it, and proceeded on the body. we had to cut the top off, and find another top (which took months) and he welded it all back up. we straightened out the body as good as we could, then sent it in for paint. It came went in the booth as primer, and came out in beautiful cherry red. we ordered new emblem for the outside all around, all correct grill emblem and everything, had grandma recover the seats and cut some carpet for the floorboard. all the door panels and interior trim were missing, but i didnt care, and didnt have the money to get all new parts by the time i got my liscence, so the shop inspected it, and I was driving that all through high school.

Grandad passed, and I joined the military so I had my mom take it to a show and put a for sale sign in it, and she had offers within minutes.

after i came home from overseas i wanted an sn95, i love the curves. So i found one, it was a single-owner 1998 gt that had 73K on it. Owned by a old lady that bought it as her mid-life crisis vehicle. mostly highway miles, as she lived 30 mins from work and it was all highway. she listed it for 8000, and i walked away with it for $6000, said and done. Bone stock, still had the factory air filter.
