How much am I looking at to have both my front fenders painted?

My car had the standard 96-98 GT badges on it, along with some Cobra badges that a previous owner decided to put on. :nonono:

I purchased 99-04 New Edge-style GT badges and planned to put them on, so I pulled off the Cobra and old GT badges today. I have done this a few times before and am generally pretty good at it (heating them up well, using floss/fishing line to slowly work in behind it, etc).... however, it looks as if someone has already tried this before and was nowhere near as careful as I was. The clear behind the Cobra emblem had already been ripped off in the perfect shape of the emblem. Behind the GT badges, the clear and a good section of the paint was gone as well. Looks like total hell and the new badges don't even come close to covering it. (I know I didn't cause this damage because neither the clear nor the paint was stuck to the back of the badging adhesive).

How much am I potentially looking at to have both front fenders fixed or resprayed? :crying:

you cant blend every color and make it look decent.

What color is the car? thats gonna play a huge role in cost. Certain colors will not match, even if you do the entire fender, just because of sun fading and all that jazz. Black especially.

+1... some paints have different hues, metallics, and pearls built into the color, so the price can jump all around on you.
i would drive down to a local body shop and have them give you an estimate..

black is one of the easiest colors to paint match if it's just black. but it will hide the imperfections in the paint until you see it at a certain angle. sometimes its ALOT easier to spot the imperfections tho. more times than not it's easier

The car is Lazer Red, or at least it looks to be. I can see signs all over the car that it's been resprayed (probably entirely), as it used to be a show car with a previous owner. I wondered why the paint was in such immaculate condition when I bought it. I just clayed, buffed, polished, and waxed the entire car these past two days, so it's looking amazing with the exception of the two fenders.

I went down to a great local shop today and they're going to email me the estimate later on. I may skip the driver's side fender, seeing as once I get the adhesive off and put on the 99-04 GT badge, it may cover the bad spot entirely. The chipped off spot where the old Cobra emblem was below it pisses me off, but isn't worth paying hundreds to have done. The passenger side needs it badly because a ton of paint (1"x 4" area) came off and the new badge can't hide it.

If you want to save some money, take the fenders off and bring them to the shop...that way they won't have to tape anything off.
