Just curious on how much everyone spent on their paint job (body work, fabrication, paint, etc.)

i took mine to maaco cause i was impatient and didnt want to look around for a place. i spent around 750 for it including labor, but that was pretty much one of their basic packages. but when my parents took our other white mustang to a different maaco in a different town they only spent about 400

We set this big tent up and put some fans in it to make a little makeshift paint booth, then our neighbor has a good sized compressor and we ran the hose from his house to the tent. My dad borrowed the gun from a guy at work so most of the money went into paint and supplies

What it looked like before

I spent like 4k including labor since it was done at my dads shop the labor was severly discounted. i shaved everything, tinted the lights, went to a snow white with pearl hand laid ghost flames.

My car isnt "completely" repainted, but most of it has been due to some hit/run on the driver's door(whole side got repainted) and I did an under the table to get the other side(minus the door) repainted and all door dings removed, that was an extra $400. Recently, slid into a truck smashing front, decided to get the cobra bumper/hood. After new hood/insurance/prep work was done, $1800 for all the front(hood and bumper and fenders). Parts not freshly painted: Rear bumper(next winter), trunk/spoiler(good condition still), roof/pillars(again, good condition).

Expensive, lol....but it was worth it for all the compliments I get. Mine has lifetime warranty, is custom paint, and had lots of custom body work done.

just find a good reputable painter...if their quality is what it should be, they won't mind giving you a lifetime warranty on it

1 week after I got back from Iraq I bought my 96 GT. As I drove from Ft. Sill to Knoxville Tn I was put into a gaurd rail by a 18 wheeler. Insurance paid for $2000 of body work and painted the right side of the car, I spent another $3500 to get the entire car painted, jams and all from Billingsly Ford in Lawton, OK. It was terrible. I didnt tell them that I used to work at a body shop prior to the Army. needless to say it got painted all over, took 3 months!
