Right now I have a BBK off road H pipe with weld in flowmaster 40's.....stock cat back piping and tailpipes...how much louder would the car be if I did 90 degree turndowns directly after the mufflers?

Lol........reason I ask is that I did that on a 5.0 explorer, cat straight to a 40 then a turndown and it was not too loud and I saw some decent gains in the seat of the pants dyno

i dont think there wud be. headers, and an o/r midpipe or hi flow catted 1 r about the only way ull see power gains. dumps shudnt give u nemore or ne less power than the other exhaust mods u have. header, midpipe, catback, etc. theyll all basically give u the same power output

I have turn downs. Before every road trip back to Cali, I put the rest of the exhaust back on. The drone is soo fcuking annoying. Hwy is the worst. But it does sound bad ass when I'm cruising and racing.

Well, you have a mac chambered X pipe so that dims down the drone and it looks like you have a 3 chamber flow or knock off. Yours will be quieter than the OP's.

And you would cry driving next to my super 40 at WOT. People always say the only good thing about loosing to me is they get to hear my Exhaust. :0)

what about welding in some 10 series single chamber flowmasters? would that be unbearably loud? cause I gotta admit, my current setup is not loud at all, (BBR O/R catless h pipe with weld in classic 40's)

Just remember, your exhaust will only be so loud with a stock induction system... add a cai, throttle, aftermarket head/intake/cams and it will be alot louder...
