My sisters boyfriend has a 2001 Mustang GT with about 62,000 miles on it. He thinks he spun a bearing. I may be able to scoop up the car for cheap, just wondering how much it would cost to get it fixed if it is a bearing. (just looking for ballpark figures)

You doing the work? If you pull the motor and just take it to a shop to have the motor freshened up $500 max

What shop do you know that will tear down and rebuild a motor with new rings/bearings (assuming there is no other damage) for $500?

Yea motors are pretty cheap. I bought one about 5 years ago for 1500.00 but it only had 15,000 miles on it. It was a theft recover car.

I know where a 4.6 GT motor is for 800.00. I'm sure he might take less on it. I'm sure it would have to ship. He is in Alabama.
