how to adjust ebrake?

how do i adjust the tightness of the cable. its been loose as hell since i bought the car and i finally wanna do somthing about it. i have a haynes repair manual but it says nothing on how to adjust it. help?

PS: The manual has only how to replace the cable and and mentions the adjuster but nothing on how to adjust it.

nah, his cable is probably stretched like mine.

There is a thread in 96-98 4.6 tech that explains how to tighten the ebrake...requires wleding

I didn't have to weld anything when I adjusted mine. Unfortunately, I sort of forget how to do it. From what I remember you should remove the center console and then adjust the E-brake sprocket (somehow?). Sorry, thats the best I could do lol.

yeah, the how-to in the thread link above explains it in better detail, but there is no welding involved UNLESS you plan on installing an adjustable e-brake line.
