How to get Drivers Side Head Off??

In the middle of the PI swap and cannot get the drivers side head off. I thought i could pull the dipstick after the head was off but m aybe im wrong? I have the coolant pip undone and out of the way from the back of the head but something is still not allowing it come off.

did you get all the head bolts? There isn't really anything holding it down per say. It might be stuck on the block guides that line up everything. Do you still have the cam installed? If not you can reinstall it and use that to pull up with your hands and see if you can rock is loose. Is the motor still in the car or out?

Motor is in car, all head bolts out, head is moved forward an inch and above head dowels. Something is getting caught on the bottom.

It seems that the oil dipstick tube is keeping the head from coming off. How do i take this off?

the dip stick tube needs to be pulled out with the head if you plan on taking off the head with the exhaust manifold still attached. all you have to do is just keep yanking. this will pretty much ruin the dipstick tube, so you will need a new one. if you bought the FRPP kit, it should come with a new one.

if you dont plan on taking off the dipstick tube, you will need to remove the exhaust manifold before you take the head off.

Might be a stupid question, but you did take the midpipe off the manifold right?

the back three bolts on the drivers head i couldn't get them out so i had someone else hold them up before i lifted the head up.

as far as dipstick i had mine off. i think it just pulls out
