Back in February my Cobra was planted into a concrete wall at about 20-30 mph. The bags didn't blow but some wires were pinched by one of the crush boxes. I fixed the wires and ever since the "Air Bag" light has been on. I've been planning on taking it to Ford but haven't gotten around to it. Last night I was driving home from my girl's place (1 hour drive) and 15 minutes in, I look down -- "Air Bag" light off for the first time in 4 months, "Check Engine" light on for the first time ever. So I pulled over, checked fluids and let it idle for a few minutes. The car ran soundly -- stayed cool and idled well with no abnormal noises. I'm guessing it's an O2 sensor or something of that nature. I guess I'm really just wondering how the two lights would be connected? Why would my "Air Bag" light turn off when my CEL comes on?

If your car is a 96 then yes, the parts stores can pull the codes for you

The air bag and CEL should not be related

Thanks for the info Matt, although maybe I was stupid and couldn't find an OBD-II method? Anyways, I took my car to the parts store and it threw PO411 -- "Secondary Air Injection System Flow Improper". After some research, it looks like this has something to do with the smog pump. Can anyone confirm that?
