Must of been a serious weight shift for it to make the tail of that plane so heavy, terrible to see that people are lost doing their jobs, from others not doing theirs.

I was thinking the plane stalled (wings lost lift) Obviously.
Load shifting would cause it too. Weight and balance is very important. Might have been overloaded too.

not often you see a plane that large pointed that verticle. As they said above could have been a loose load that got thrown to the tail or else there was some kind of major control failure.

yeah it was carrying 5 or 6 large military truck type vehicles I believe, if that shifted and made it tail heavy there's really nothing you can do at that point. obviously a stall that low in a plane of that size is going to be catastrophic every time, pretty horrible thing to watch knowing you can't do shit.


that being said that's really not a reason to dislike flying, for planes to be as fatal as cars you'd have to have 2-3 airliner crashes per week.

Yeah, but when I drive I am the one in control. I take care of my cars - make sure that they are safe to drive and don't do stupid things when I'm driving. I don't like getting in a mega ton flying hunk of metal that is perhaps not had proper maintenance or the pilots are arguing and miss the landing:

I know this is mental attitude thing and understand that some a-hole can t-bone me at an intersection, but unless I am the pilot I'll probably never feel at ease in a plane. Very curious as to what caused this cargo plane to crash.

as far as planes go if you have equipment failure or cargo shift in this case it doesn't really matter how good you are at flying planes. And yes we trust ourselves driving, but it's usually someone else that will end up killing us on the road.

i've been in planes all my life. i don't particularly likkke going on them, but ever since 9/11, they've been verrrrry good at checking to make sure everything is ok with both the planes and the passengers boarding said plane. the TSA seems like a huge pita, and it is, but they do a hell of a job keeping travelers safe

However flying doesn't scare me at all. I actually enjoy it and miss being on a plane. Last time I flew was almost 4 years ago.

I build Boeing 787's for a living and hate flying lol

It's a shame to see though. Don't even like to think about this. Can't imagine how the guys feel that "secured" the vehicles in the airplane.

Edit: just read they had their own loadmaster on the plane that also died. Just awful.

I love flying! Second to last time I was in a plane I jumped out of it.

It really is a shame though. Probably was something as simple as a nick in one of the straps causing a tear which results in a chain reaction. Kindof similar to what happened in Arizona a few weeks back at the nuke plant. Rigging failed causing the stater & supports to fall through about 3 floors (stater weighs about a billion tons) and unfortunately took people's lives.

Flying doesn't scare me. I love the feeling of being in a plane. Also the amount of crashes compared to the amount of planes flying is extremely small.




This happenend here at home during the airshow or practicing for the airshow.

I forget how exactly it all happened, but the pilot realized something was wrong and ejected. So the only damage was the 30 or 40 million dollar plane.
