It cant be the oil filter thats leaking because it wouldnt be all over the steering shaft, or my LT headers. It is about that time for a oil change if that mean anything. Also the last couple of days since i put some more oil in the engine i've been riding around just fine went out yesterday rode around for about 45 minutes still no leak or anything even at start ups no leaks im confused now :dontknow:

Like I mentioned earlier...When you start the car, is it still warm from the last time you drove it (within the last 10-12 hours).

Why do you say it can't be the filter? It's right above your rack, isn't it? It is on my 4V

yes it would. As you drive, all the oil blows back and gets everywhere.

+1. i had the same problem with my valve cover... thought it was me just missing on the fill-up, but there was a tiny leak on my drivers side valve cover... it would turn into a full drop when sitting, then when i would drive away the air would just dispurse it... i thought that it was something major because it would smoke so bad... but it was litterally nothing...

I dont know whats going on i even drove to Pensacola, Fl and back which all together is about an 12 hour drive no oil leak or nothing. I guess i'll stop worrying myself about the oil and just keep my eyes peeled pretty sure it will leak again but i thank you guys for your help at least i gotta an idea of what to look for next time.

Hey, any of those things can leak and with you going down the road can blow the oil back on the headers...Maybe I missed it in the thread but have you had a oil consumption issue with the engine? Also one thing that is overlooked is I've had oil leaks from the front cover right where the block, head andtiming cover all meet..and that is right above the Oilfilter/coolant adapter...

You ever find yourself near pcola again just PM me the night before and swing by..we'll put it on the lift and see if we can find something...cool?

Dude, this is my 3rd time asking...
When you drive the car (with NO leaks), was the car warm still from the last time you drove it?(Did you use it in the last 10-12 hours)

Hmmmm...That IS starnge then.
My guess is it's coming from the filter area.

When you cahnge the oil, make SURE the bung that the filter screws to is TIGHT. On my cobra it's a 1/2" allen (or metric equivalent 12 or 13mm)

Let me ask you something. When you took it out and it DIDN'T leak oil, was the car still "warm"? Did you drive it in the last 12 hours or so?

I had a BAD oil leak in the exact same location. It was my oil cooler gasket. It would leak with a very fast pour out from the area with a cold start. It'd leak about 1.5 quarts.
If I started the car within another 10-12 hours, I would have ZERO leak. Not even a drop.

I don't remember if the GTs have the oil cooler too, but I have the correct gasket FS in the classifieds currently.

Listen to this guy.

I have a similar problem....car only leaks when its cold. Its the gasket for the oil filter adapter

Not sure if you need it, but I have that gasket here and don't need it.
It's actually in the classifieds.

This is something I have often wondered. Do the '98's and after not have this filter adapter? Mine does not have this item.

Is this a Windsor blocks do and Romeo's don't kind of thing? Teksid iron blocks?
