Here's a list of what I already have on the car. Afr 165 heads, TFS intake, mild cam, and most all the other bolt-on norms and adj. fuel pressure regulator. I have yet to install a 255lph pump, calibrated maf, 30lb injectors and 1" intake spacer. I plan on installing nitrous in the future, but for now (after installing the fuel upgrades). I need some base number suggestions as far as fuel pressure and timing go. Also, will the car be driveable for the time being without a professional tune? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

i have a similar parts list as you do. if it were me, i would keep timing down, and fuel up, and go and have it professionally tuned.
i was a little sceptical at first about getting it tuned, but on the first pull, untuned, just for a baseline, he had to stop at 2,500rpm because my air/fuel ratio started to climb above 17! i personally am very skeptical on someone doing there own tune, etc, i would
just have it done by a prof. IMO.

I could see the reasoning in letting a professional do it but I want to learn EVERYTHING about my car so I do it all myself. It's way more rewarding and cheaper in the end. Those pros had to start somewhere right?

I kinda feel the same way, but would I need a wideband or is it safe just reading the plugs.

I guess you don't NEED a wideband but I recommend one. When tunning you let the tweecer or in my case megasquirt know your desired (commanded) A/f ratio. But that only means it'll do things that it thinks will get it there. Only when you actually have a wideband o2 you'll know your actual air fuel ratio.
