So by June i should have 4800-5000 dollars saved up for a car. I already been told i can get a cobra for this price. It'll be a cobra, but chances are HIGH its been beat on because of the low price.

I also have a chance to get a GT Vert for around this price. I seen this car before and i know it hasn't been beat on. Matter of fact the very rims i salvaged from my old 97 GT Vert came off this other GT vert 3 years ago.

Its a 1998 GT Vert... its the exact twin (down to exterior and interior) of my car and has 30k miles less than my old GT.

So what would you do?

I can do the PI intake on the 98 GT without a hassle since i wont have to deal with the waterpump nipple. Make sure i have fuel lines snugged and have 2 fire extinguishers near by :angel4:

I mean if i can find a Snake for this price range that'll run good i'll go for it. But looking on craiglist i dont see ANY in that price range.. peoples want near 8k-1000 for a sn95 vert cobra.

So would you buy a Cobra for cheap cheap taking the chance its been RAGGED on to hell....

or

Just get the GT thats had a good life.

you could go either way. the cobra might be ragged to death... but the problems produced by that can be fixed right?

Not by me.... if its anything like head problems/cam/ oil problems. It'll cost a crap load of money to get fixed im thinking. My old GT had a head problem i wouldnt be able to deal with.

See, im not sure. What kind problems are normal for a car that been abused?

Vert

But keep your eyes peel and look on CL and the classifieds in the paper near you daily. You might find one in great shape for a great deal.

I'd say go for the Cobra. I wouldn't rule any cars out yet, you'll know when you drive the car if it's been beat on or not; don't just assume it was.

On the other hand if you want a vert then get a vert.

replace the GT....it wont be the same unless you do. It will give you a chance to learn more with the motor you are already familiar with too.

I hate verts and I hate 4v so its not tough for me.

Make the intelligent decision, if you can buy a good clean car for low money do it. Do not spend the money on a car if its beat to death, you will hate your self even if tis a sick cobra or that ver that reminds you of your old one. Just get the cleanest best kept car for the money.

The 98 GT vert is a straight virgin. :angel4: ALL STOCK expect the rims from a 99 GT.

LOL, it'll be like starting over. I think i might jump on this.. i didnt treat my old GT so well maintance wise. Now i can start on the same car and do everything right. I MIGHT keep the stock catback and just add a o/r X pipe with weld in mufflers. I didnt see any difference when i added the mac catback to my car.

I guess this is my goal again:
