what are you launching at and what rear tires?

I honestly don't know what I launched at. But I babied it through first, caught second, spun and had to let out at least 2 times. I have nitto 555nt's 315's.

I really lost all excitement and just wanted to get it over with. I sat in line for almost 3 hours waiting to run once. It was a nightmare. I picked the wrong night to run. People leaning on my car. I had to pee but couldn't leave my car. People were yelling to me WHILE I was staged. It was just a disaster. I ran, went into the pull off, got out and pee'd lol, picked up my slip and scooped up my buddy and got the hell outta there.

I will never be going on a Sunday night again.

At least you took it to the track and posted evidence even if you didn't make a record breaking run. A LOT of people on here have never taken their cars down the 1/4 or 1/8 mile. Keep practicing and have fun

THANKS That's what I'm trying to do. I don't care what people think lol I had fun

I know :( but when I ran 9.0, in the 1/4 it was 13.9@101 with a 2.17 60ft (lol bald street tires)
I doubt his near stock npi ran that.

Had 4.10, tuner, exhaust, shift kit but still had a sub/system in the car at full weight. Otherwise it ran 8.9's all night, bone stock NPI motor. I was loading the converter and cutting 1.6's on 315 sumitomos every run though lol. That was literally ALL it had. I still have the slip around here. I was pretty proud of that though. It was strong for an NPI motor. And yes I checked to make sure it was still NPI sammich goodness.

How can I get better if you're driving it? Lol but I'm down. I'll record it and claim the glory lol but we gotta fix that bushing before I romp on her too hard.

Is that a typo?

you were not cutting 1.6 60 foots on sumitomos. lol

My npi turd was doing 9.0 9.1s back in the day, 8.9s is great for a npi

It was a 1.7-1.90 60 ft consistently. Car didn't spin or sputter at all off the line. Was very consistent and easy to drive. No idea why, I know it's hard to believe, but I drove the tar out of it for a year like that and it was an 8.9 flat car. Was it ever going to be faster then that? Hell no, I'd have to put a set of PI cams and an intake on it to make that happen. Only thing that might have contributed to that was I had a march underdrive balancer on it. The old one fell apart in two pieces. Beyond that it really was just a Gear, shift kit, tuned and exhaust NPI. lol It's hard to believe, I know.

My car on a bald 315 Sumi's went 2.0 and ive been a best of 1.9 on a 315 Sumi, I find it hard to believe anyone left any harder then i did on a 315 Sumi just for the simple fact that they just don't hook. Suspention/track temps might have payed a roll in it to. Who knows?

You still running the IRS on your car? Im iffy about launching mine with the 345s on the IRS but want to try it atleast one time to get a 1.6-1.8 Short time to see what it can really do as is... Last time out i managed a 9.0 :(

It really did stick. I do know that the track he was at, which is where I was, they had been throwing down a lot of track prep, so maybe that helped me. And I was in the best lane as well so.

With what torque converter?

You said 1.6 60 foot with sumitomos...best I did with a 3800 stall and 400 rwhp in my car on slicks was 1.65 just for comparison...you didnt do 1.6 with sumis bro.

You sure it didnt have a PI motor in it...lol

My 96 gt with 3.73s, fulll bolt ons, long tubes, o.r mid pipe, tb/plenum, PI intake, 248a package, stock auto converter would do 9.0-9.2s at cecil county which is basically below sea level.

Dude I'm serious. It really was stock NPI. The car was a freak though, stronger then it should have been. But it did have the infamous dead zone in the upper rpm like all NPI. I think it had hedman longtubes on it at that time, but I'm not sure. I really did run 8.9 sumi's and all lol. Stock convertor. I just loaded the shit out of it. Took me a few runs but I nailed like a 8.96 out of it. Had control arms, springs etc all on the back if that makes you feel better. H&R race springs. I'm sure you remember the car. Look wayyyy back in the archives I remember posting about my time. I'll see if I can find the time slip.

Im not arguing with the times, im arguing with the 60 foot lol.

I believe you did a 8.9-9.0, I dont think you did a 1.6 60 foot or even a 1.7 or 1.8 lol...

Realistically on the stock converter with 4.10 gears a 1.9 is about as good as it gets.

Theres just not enough power and torque multiplication going on down low with a stock converter.

I am drinking a bud light so hell it could be a 1.0 flat for all I care. Either way, she nailed out an 8.9. With less weight I'm sure it had an 8.7-8.8 in it. Beyond that, she was tapped out.

Haha I wished I could have gone PI swap, which I had a complete motor at the time, and see what she was capable of then. Would have probably been pretty strong.
