Since I've had my car, I've always thought it had 3:73's... But I've been told that I might have 4:10's...

What do you think? At 65mph I'm at 2600 RPM's in 5th gear... Does that sound right?

yessir, it seems like you do have 4.10s. I was wondering how are you gonna know how fast your going? Do you have speed cal and is it calibrated for 410s or 373s?

or jack the rear tires off the ground, rotate the tire 1 revolution, count how many times the drive shaft spins. just under 4 turns=3:73, 3:90s just over 4 =4:10's

My speedometer is off by like 45 mph lol... I know when my speedometer is at 100mph, I'm doing 65 because I passed one of those police speedtrap radars.

I have 4:10's in mine and thats higher than what mine runs at, but I have 18 inch wheels. Im assuming you have 17's, but yeah I would say thats a 4:10 gear.

one more note. both tires have to rotate together. if your trac-loc is broken or worn and the tires don't spin together your ratio will be off.

turn the driveshaft not the tire.

as mentioned mark the wheel / ground and the driveshaft / rear housing and count rotations of each.

edit: its really a two person job.

Find out for sure what gears you have and buy the correct spedo gear, Id be willing to bet that its not correct.

Get a speedcal then figure it out. Hell you can figure it out by putting in the speedcal. Set it for 4.10s and if its off, set it for 3.73s. Good way to knock out two birds with one stone.

is your speedometer acurate?

if it is, you dont have 4.10s... unless you have a speed cal... the easiest way is to get a friend driving next to you at 80 MPH... if your speedo is 15 MPH off, you have 4.10s (you should be at around 3,100 RPMs)

they dont make a speedo gear (no matter what any one tells you) that will work with a T5/T45 to make your speedo 100% accurate for 4.10s... it would have something like, 28 splines, which is rediculous...

for a SN95 to have an accurate speedo with 3.73s and 4.10s you need a speed cal from americanmuscle.com... if you have 4.10s and a manual tranny, you'll shift into 2nd gear in the middle of an intersection, even if youre driving normally...

you'll finish the 1/4 mile at roughtly 4,000 RPMs in 4th gear

your speedo will say 90 MPH, your tach will say 3,000 RPM, and your car will be going 75 MPH...

I do have to shift in the middle of intersections (i usually shift around 3k) ... And me speedo is off by like 45mph... when my speedo is at 100mph, im doint 65 at 2600rpms.

what about this speedo gear? http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/iwwida.pvx?;item?item_no=LRS-17285A-K%20%20%201&comp=LRS

wait u have 4.10s and cant spin into second

I can spin in 2nd IF i mash it, but I shouldn'y have to mash it to spin in 2nd, my last sn95 spun in 2nd without trying.. im working on some possible causes of this.

Lol, you have stock gears and a speedo gear for 4.10s! (j/k)

How tall are your tires? I think the easiest way to know for sure is to count the wheel revolutions while turning the driveshaft.

Ok went to tci's page and used a calculator
http://www.tciauto.com/Products/TechInfo/Calculators.asp#6

with 26in tires, 4.10's, 2600rpm and .62 5th gear you would be at 79.1mph ( actual) which is ~15 miles off of your 65mph.  Looks like 4.10's if you have 26 inch tires..
