I know a sticky IAC will cause a hanging idle. But will it also cause a a miss when the engine is cold. The miss only happens after the car has been sitting for long periods, more than a week. After it warms up the car runs great.

Mine does this too in a way...

I actually just cleaned my IAC this weekend(it wasn't too dirty) and that seems to have helped.

It also sometimes does it if I beat on the car really hard for a long period of time. then it will misfire for like 30 seconds.

I'm starting to think the plugs are original in my car so I can only guess weather or not the IAC cleaning worked or not until I pull the plugs.

are you sure its a miss? the only thing the IAC is doing is letting air past the throttle body. it would have nothing to do w/ a miss fire. with it only happening after its set it may be an injector leaking down, washing out the cylinder. it would clear up after a little while of running.

I will try and clean my IAC this weekend. If that does not fix the miss after sitting, I will get the injectors pop tested.

Why not just replace it? I had to shortly after i got my cobra....

Was at the 1320 on the coldest night of the year and it kept bogging down while idling.. next thing i know it just died.. Would turn over but not start. Took forever to figure out it was the IAC Valve but it was such a relief when we figured it out..
