Iac?

as I roll up to a stop, until I stop my car idles at around 1400-1700 rpms, once I stop then it goes to idle. I have assumed that this was the IAC working and that I just never really noticed it until I had the exhaust, heads/cam on it? Is there any problem with deleting this? Seems like since I put the heads/cam on that it is louder in that range and almost sounds like I am trying to rev it up as I go to stop.

No, you can't delete the IAC, nor would there be any benefit to doing so.

Try doing the idle reset procedure, but with h/i/c swap it probably wont work. I had to get my tuner to dial it in for me through the ecu cause of the drastic change from stock settings. 94/95 ecu is such a pinta.

Have you ever tried replacing it? The IAC maybe just going bad.

i know there's a procedeur to set the IAC and I see it often enough to know it's something to check on the 5.0
Check the stickeys or ask Paul, he needs something to do.

just replaced it this week infact and it still does it. I just figured I could set the idle with the screw on the aftermarket TB and use that. I mean right up to the point I finally come to a complete stop it idles at 1700 rpm

thats what I thought on mine but I know the intake isn't leaking, and I can't find one anywhere else.

I have the screw on the IAC all the way down, is there a different adjustment? I am about to hook up a vacuum gauge shortly so I can test that.

I made a Idle air control restrictor plate and it worked great

I didn't think it would be that hard to plug it if it would help.

mine did the same thing and it drove me insane, its embarrassing really...i tried the restrictor plate idea multiple times using different size holes and still no improvement, i plugged it off and it would start then die, so i just unplugged the mofo and it ran better. the idle would drop like crazy between shifts but it ran better than before...but my car also had a few more problems as well, still trying to pin point everything

ck our your TPS.I was having a hanging idle issue for a while. I was given a 65mm TB with both IAC and TPS sensors. My hanging idle went away. I had tested the old IAC before and it tested good. Then I tested the old TPS and found some dead spots in it.

checked and replaced it last week when I swapped the IAC. IT helped the drivability of the car 100 times as it isn't lurching anymore and runs great at lower rpms now but still idles high until I stop. Isn't that what the IAC does to keep more power to the ac and such?

Make sure you are running the right fuel pressure. All vac hose have no leaks. Reset base idle.

I have done a base idle reset. I am about to install a 255 lph fuel pump, AFPR as well as a gauge to monitor/set it, as well as a vac gauge.
