Sounds like your IAC(Idle Air Control valve) is dirty and needs to be cleaned. :thumb:

I have that problem so to clean this IAC do you have to take it off? Just wipe it out while its on there? I have no idea on a techniqe to clean it advice would be awesome :TY:

I just got done cleaning mine, I pulled it off and took a look at it, strange no carbon on it at all. So I sprayed it with some carb cleaner and wiped it out as best I could, shook it off then cleaned out the plenum hole with some carb cleaner, got quite a bit of carbon out of there. I will let you all know how it behaves tomorrow. Probably should clean my EGR also.

id use carb choke cleaner. no residue. and clean your maf too with maf cleaner. on these cars its usually a combination of things other than just 1.

I couldn't tell much difference with mine except the idle never dropped down lower than it should, so I guess thats a good thing. The idle still likes to linger while cruising not sure what causes that. I got a few other things to clean out, I'm not worried about it.

Fords lame o IAC gasket causes hanging idle, there's a mod you can do to drop it quicker, search this forum. It's a few pages back.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide if I want to use the 1/2" pipe cap idea or make the custom gasket. I'm leaning towards the pipe cap.
