I've been trying to do some research on these boxes but I thought I might ask the people that have had first hand experience with these. I keep reading that MSD boxes tend to not last as long so I ask what other choices are there for our cars? I did a search on summit for a 95 GT and all that pops up is a crane box. If I were to go with MSD, it would be the 6AL right?

Yes. 6AL will work.

Lots of people have bad things to say about MSD. Some of them are based on personal bad experiences. Some of them are just parroting what they heard on the internetz. Other than their distributors, I've had pretty good luck with MSD stuff. (coils, boxes, wires)

That said, there are LOTS of other modifications you can do first that will give you way more bang for your buck.

Paul.

I dont' know why people keep running the 6al boxes when for 50 bucks more you can get a digital 6 with way more features. Built in timing retard for starting. Built in timing retard 12v activated should you ever wanna run nitrous. Built in max rev limiter. Built in two step rev limiter. All of those features are controled by dials on the side of the box. Hooks up the same as the 6al. Wanna change the rev limit on your 6al? better have the pills you wanna set it to. wanna add timing retard? buy a seperate box. Digital 6 is the damn deal. The 6al is old school.

digital 6 and don't put it under hood. put it inside where it will stay dry and cool. wire connections need to be made nice and solid also.

the new 6al is digital. you can still buy the analog one but there really is no reason as the new piece is nicer and the same price
