I'm now thinking about these rims/tires...

Getting the Chrome S Style Wheel 94-04 (17x9). Having my cousin paint them black. As soon as that's finished, buying the BF Goodrich g-Force KDW NT 255/40R-17 tires. I probably could not change my tire by myself any longer, but it is there. If I go up to 18's, I will have no spare. I know y'all say that's OK to do, kinda freaking me out already. Will that tread look OK with that size rim? I for sure want that tire!! That's as wide as it comes in that tread pattern. Thanks a lot!!

Found this pic. What I'm really wondering about is if it spreads the tread out. All I know is it really did when I ran my 245's.

I have seen a lot of Mustangs that run 255's with 17x9's, though.

That's the complete opposite of what I'm thinking. Let me think up how to word this.

I don't reallly have an example. I had a 245 on my 17x9. It worked fine, but looked not right. Kinda like putting a 275 on a 10" rim. It will work, but not look normal. Crap guys, I hoped that I typed earlier made sense! What I call spreading out in excess would be a 245 on the 10" rim, I think.

Bringing this back. I am taking my old Cobra R's & swapping them out so I can get my 03's. I bought a 255 & it looks fine!! I knew y'all said it would, good to see if with my own eyes! Got 245's on them. It will not be driven more that 25 ft, maybe will be pushed. I just wanted a 17" tire. They had a 245 & a 255, I chose it to see for sure how it would look.

On 1 of the rims. The rest have my 245's on it. Do I need to take pics? I can if you need me to! I'll go get some in case!

I got them. I think I am thinking kinda off! Those tires are Firestone Firehawk's 235/55-17. It's the middle # that is the width, correct? This entire time I was thinking this, but looking @ the 1st #. I got myself all turned around!
The guy @ the tire shop said he had 45's & 55's. I was thinking 245 & 255. I just saw what they were. I really don't have any idea anymore about any of it! If you can help me, I'd much appreciate it!

I want to stick with 17's so I can keep my spare. Only make 17" Saleens in chrome. Plus,
18" tires cost a lot!! I'll save $68 a tire. When you are broke, that helps. I want the BFG KDW in the New Tread design! They make a 255/40-17.
