so i did a vac test on 94 gt today with a HCI setup from trickflow...i believe i have the stage 2 cam in it due to fact i plan to s/c it in the future. anyways when i did the test today the gauge reading was 5 hg with a steady needle. i know that timing and cam would effect my reading right? my timing is set at 12-13 right now and i just recently had to change my intake gaskets because they were leaking. also when i put the HCI setup on the car i replaced all the vac lines so all that should be good. the thing that let me to do the test in the first place is my power brakes dont work at idle and the car surges while cruising at any speed...you notice it mostly at slow speeds. idle smooth tho and runs amazing so idk. any help you guys can offer would be appreciated.

oh to add i have some extra vac ports on the bottom of my upper intake that i have some caps on. when i took one off today to do the vacuum test there was this chocolate milk looking liquid in the cap. kinda like coolant mixed with antifreeze but i have no idea how that would get in the upper intake unless its just old residue from my leaking intake gaskets or blow by from the pcv?

First off, was it the kit? If it was the kit it is the stage 1 cam, the stage 2 cam i think has piston to valve issues without cut pistons. Also what injectors are you running? I have no real issues with mine with surging except for when it is cold. sounds like a vacuum line hooked up wrong somewhere, double check all connections. the car won't run 100% without a tune too, the 94/95 computers apparently don't like cams too much.

well i had to the cam change to one that would respond better to a supercharger in the future so its not the original one that came in the kit. i did have the car tuned last summer after the install. um but recently when i took the manifolds back off to changed the gaskets i found out that 3 of the fuel injectors were broken on the tips so i replaced them. all of my injectors are stock so i didnt see there being any problem with just replacing them with stock replacements. but i started to thing that if the injector were bad last summer when i got my tune then now my car might be running too rich sense all the injectors are for sure good now.

getting bigger injectors is a smart idea for this kit, I use 30lbs but 24lb is perfect for the combo.

well i plan to upgrade the injectors when i get the supercharger that way i only have to pay for one more tune. but would having this kit change your vac readings if you already had a tune

Did they tune it with this kit on it? if not, get it re-tuned for this kit obviously. I'm not the smartest on vacuum lines but that's why I say, double check every line and connector before you start getting too worried.

Sounds like your power brake assist diaphragm is on its way out. Its not hard to replace. I had really hard brakes in my Explorer when mine went out.

Did you check all the vac lines for the brakes?
