last thursday i was heading home from a car show in my whip along with this other kid in a 05 gto (longtubes, exhaust, big cam, sounded sick), and this kid in a sti started driving like a lunatic. Now i know that this sti is much faster than my car so the kids trying to get by me and i let him go, and he cuts off 2 cars ahead of him in the other lane and i end up getting in front of him (not by choice, this is how it happened). We hit a stoplight with the kid in the gto next to me turning left and the sti in front of me, the kid in the sti gives a rev then i give a rev and he sticks his hand out the window and gives the thumbs down, so i get a little pissed, put it in first and start a pretty big burnout and take off after him, i pull up to him at the next light and say "can your car do that?" He seemed to get a little pissed then took off, where he proceeded to cut off another guy and almost nail him. :aresehole:

I don't condone the burnout, but give this dude some slack. He can't control what this guy does in his STi. I've had my share of run-ins with the Import crowd when I used to drive to work everyday. Many times I can say AND regret I got pissed and proceeded to race them. Many of them would act like asses and do the ol' ricer flyby flashers on and everything after I linked about 10 cars or more on them before shutting it down. I had one guy drive on the shoulder and almost take out someone as he passed them on the right as the unknowing person tried to exit. That's about the time I stopped and listened to my brain instead of my ego. But I can proudly say to this day out of too many races I've lost but only one and that was to a heavily modded Eclipse Turbo. Got to speak to the dude afterwards when we got stuck in Bridge toll traffic and he said he was pushing about 420 to the ground. AWD and everything. :help2: My car hung for a while until his spooled and he was gone. He said he was surprised how well my car handled. Dude was cool tho. Knew what he had and knew he could have easily been beaten like I was. Just got to be careful because if you end up racing someone and THEY F-UP and get into a smashup YOU TOO can be held accountable. In NY they do this. :'(

Last night im comin home on a 2 lane and this guy in a f150 with a turbo I guess pulls up next to me. We are in heavy traffic going from light to light. Now with my 410's it sounds like im gettin on it even granny shiftin. So he gets next to me and stomps on it. Like 3 times. Im lookin and I se his passenger and the guy looks at me and nods his head like " We whooped you" ???. LOL I havent even gotten over 3k. Next light we end up first at light (he waited for me). I look ahead and theres nothin there but open road for like a mile to the next light. Passenger starts the noddin shit again and we take off. He floors it and i just come out in 1st like normal. As he gets like a length ahead i say Fuck This hit 2nd and stomp it LOL. Motor hits 6k and im 4 lengths on him LOL. I hit 3rd and see his headlights WAAAAAAAYYYYY back there LOL. I come up to the next light and he pulls in behind me. LOL. I guess he had enough. I dont condone street racing myself. I never do it. Well almost never. I looked the situation over and felt it was safe to show these 2 misfits what the car could actually do. When they heard that s/c spool as I blew past them they musta shit LOL.

We all like to say we don't condone it, those of us a bit older anyway, but we are all guilty. It's why we don't drive Focus's.

Weaving in and out of traffic is a no no, and residential also, I'll let em go everytime there. Otherwise, as the situation warrant's, I'm not above teaching someone a lesson, even though they never seem to learn it.

I'm a firm believer that there is a difference between street racing and just getting on it. Street racing usually ends up at well over 100mph, and shen you get on it, you just get into it long enough to shut the other person down and then you let out. Everyone goes home, no one gets hurt. Street racing gets nuts cause you have to beat the guy. I can remember passing someone on the right shoulder when I was about 17 at over 100mph just cause I couldn't get out of it before me and the guy I was racing for $200 went under the overpass (finish line). I won by a few car lengths, but man that was stupid. I'm much older and wiser now. I haven't done anything that dumb since then and don't plan to. I still go fast every now and then, but I make sure that there isn't anyone around and it's on a straight.

I completeley agree, i general believe once it's definative who's faster shut it down, and if that doesnst happen, slow down anyways, unless your on an realtively clear highway where, atleast here in goergia, on 400 (you locals to GA know what im talkin about), i find myself frequently often doing 100mph just keeping up with traffick (unless of course it's rush hour,where you go......well, youl often find yourself simply not going)

i do burnouts on public roads all the time as long as it doesn't endanger other people, no one was behind me, and no one was endangered, this guy almost created 3 accidents by driving eradically, i am not a lunatic (i can assure you this)
