I found a cheap set of cobra 24lb injectors for sale. The only problem is they are out of a 97 cobra, can these be used on the 94/95 stangs.

the only tuner in my area says he doesnt have data on venom injectors and can only tune w/ frpp injectors. have you ever heard of something like that?

i thought it sounded a little weird. Im in Nebraska so there arent too many options on tuners and i tried the tweecer once an it was way over my head. Anyone order that sct 4 chip w/ an aftermarket cam before?

I have an SCT chip but its a custom tune. Tell your tuner that the brand of injectors does not matter. Then again if he does not know that I wouldnt trust him to tune the car to much either.

Can do a mail order chip from Bob Kurgan @ Kurgan Motorsports.

Aparently he is one of the very few that can do a pretty good tune based on your information.

Some guys want "injector specs" or Calibration Summary for certain things when they tune. IE. Injector slope, multiplier values etc <---dont ask me what they mean, but I do know some tuners get picky with this kinda of data.

Ford Racing Parts has these Calibration Summaries on their website.

If you look up the Calibration Summary for the new style 24lb injector (Slim grey body with a 4 hole squirter, M9593AA302)
VS.
the common "blue top" 24lb injectors (large grey (denso)/black (bosch) body with single hole squirter, M9593A302) :

There is some minute (to the average person, like You and I) that MAY or MAY NOT make a difference to the tune.

To the OP, try and contact Venom Performance and try to see if they can email/fax you the Calibration Summary for the injectors that you have.

Ive had multiple chips burnt and friends as well at the same shop and Ive never known him to ask anything other then the injector size. I dont think its a big thing when it comes to tuning the car.

Do you know how to get ahold of him or where hes from b/c im def interested. When i called CJ Pony Parts they said they couldnt burn a SCT chip for me b/c i had an aftermarket cam...

Like I said, it depends on the tuner. Some get picky. Its probably the "Venom" brand that is throwing the tuner off and wants the data just to be safe.

Some tuners are picky , it does matter , but its not the end of the world if you dont have the specific info , there are value files for generic 24lbs injectors so I dont know why he wouldnt just load those in and adjust from there ......and alot of places only do what I call off the shelf tunes for bolt on cars only , they wont go outside the box per say on the tuning ......
