I have a 1994 V-6 Mustang and I want to install fog lights on. In the past
it has been my experience that the factory usally uses one wiring harness
on all the same models so all they need to do on the assembly line is ad
a short piece of harness for what ever option they are installing.
So that's what I'm going to go with. I really don't want to ad any
aftermarket wiring unless necessary.

Let me know if this has been done here and send me a link to
make it easier for me.

I started with the inside of the car - The fog light switch.
I took the screws out of the storage compartment in the
console and removed the compartment. "You don't need to remove the lid" This allowed me to reach up under the console and find the tabs for the coin holder that's on the console and "pop" it out

Next I had to find the plug in for the foglight switch it's fastened down next
to the wire for the convertible top. (if your cars not a convertible)
I had a console already out so I took a picture of it to show you what
I mean

It takes a little messing around to get the plug off it's holder
But after I got it loose I ran it out through the hole from the coin holder and plugged in the foglight switch. When I put the headlights on low beam and turn on the switch the little yellow light on the switch came on. TA DAAAAA It started to get dark and I stopped
for the night. I'm hopping this sends a signal to the relay location.
I checked the owner's manual and it said the low beams are on the same fuse so that should be all good.
Tomorrow I'm going to go to the large fuse box that is outside under the hood. The owners manual shows where the relay should be. with the low beams on and the foglight switch on I'm going to push
in a relay in and out to see if I can feel it "click" if I can next I'll be out by the headlights looking for the wires. Wish me luck..
HAS A THREAD BEEN DONE THIS ALREADY using factory wiring?

This is what I was talking about when I said to remove the console storage compartment.
It takes a few minutes to find and unhook the wires but it's still better than removing the console

When I found the wire I was looking for I ran it out the hole where the coin holder was and
plugged in the fog light switch. With the lights on low beam the light on the switch came on.
(factory fog lights are only suppose to work when the low beams are on)
I'm still trying to get the Florida beach sand out out of the car and carpet

Next I went to the fuse box under the hood the fog light switch on I put a relay in where
the owners manual said it should go. I felt it "Click" when I stuck it in so I knew juice was going somewhere

Next I went looking for the foglight wire it was easy to find it right about where you would think it should be. I checked it and it has 12 volt when the switch is on.
I pulled them up from down below so you could see what they look like. It looks like the plugs
for the fog lights are already there and ready to go.
So that about dose it for the wiring. I have ordered a set of fog lights and when they come in I'll
show you what they look like and what was needed to do to install them

Oldfox, that was excellent information and exactly what I want to do with my sn95. Mine is a convertible,so there is a switch for the power top and a coin holder in front of that. I assume I will have to remove the single coin holder and install my switch there. I won't miss a coin holder. I knew the 94 and 95's were pre wired at the factory. I have to find a switch, a relay and a set of fog lights. I am going to Florida for a month, so will look around there, at the auto wreckers and flea markets and see what shakes out . I like Autozone, O'Reilly's and Advanced auto for parts. Thanks for some great info and the pictures that help make it clear !!

Hey Oldfox ! I found a set of fogs, with switch on E-Bay, total cost shipped to the door was $38. A new relay for the fogs is $13 at Canadian Tire store. With the components, I'm thinking I can have everything installed and working in a morning in my shop. Your pictures were invaluable , they were clear and of excellent technical value..thank you so much for posting that, I can't say enough about the confidence I now have to tackle this job,its always nice to know what you will encounter before you tackle something.

One other possibility if you do not have a convertible is to use the hot wire from the convertible wiring to power your fogs instead of the regular fog light wire connector! The vert hot wire comes on with the key & is hot all the time ...that way you do not have to turn on your low beams to get your Fogs to come on! You can run with just your fogs...unless the Canadian Mounties will object, for you Canadian members! That is what I did for mine ....and I also used it for my Hurst Line Lock for a switched power source. It was just so easy to do that way!
