What kind of power gains are expected with a 1" spacer on a street heat intake. The car has heads and the usual bolt-ons. I guess my question is, is the spacer worth the price?? thanks

And clear any aftermaket tall valve covers. :)

Not sure if its got any truth, but i read somewhere adding a 1" spacer can move the powerband slightly up the rev range.

yes but when driving around the intake gets heat soaked so there is no helping it. I do have one and it is worth it to me. If you go to the track it helps alot with the use of ice.

But would you have to get a cowl hood?

I didnt, but i'm running the Cobra intake [1" spacer] with a quarter of an inch to spare, not sure which is the tallest or shortest intake. ;)

I've got a taller hood already, and besides a bigger motor or a power adder, I'm just looking for justifiable bolt-ons...so, street driven, is it worth the $
