Although i am going to get and new edge console when i find one. So i still have door panels steering wheel and seats to figure out.

i would go with the fr500 steering wheel from 5.0 resto. as far as the door panels, try and figure something different out.
i dont know if it would be possible/look decent to replace the door carpet with vinyl or something :dunno:

Until I can get a FR500 steering wheel im just going to paint the steering wheel and put a steering wheel cover on it so it doesnt rub off.

after having done this swap myself, i would strongly advise you to replace pieces that are frequently handled (steering wheel, door bezels, latches, etc) with OEM black pieces. it may take a while to find them, but not having to constantly re-touch them (which you will) will be worth it. here are some pics from my swap (also had the black/tan combo.. hated it):

i used Duplicolor Interior & Vinyl spray for the stuff i painted, new carpet from 50resto, got the seats from a buddy, got a rear-seat-delete in black carpet, and replaced the pieces i described above w/ OEM black pieces from junkyards and ebay. definitely a worth-while mod, imho.

Did you use gloss or semi gloss or flat black?

How did you guys paint/dye the dash? And how hard was it to get inside of the map pockets?

I started painting my interior this fall (it was also black & tan), but I was holding off on the larger pieces (door panels, dash, quarters) until I get a 1/2 decent spray gun (which should be pretty soon).

I can't decide if I want to try and remove the dash, paint it, then replace it.... or just paint it in place (I might even remove the windshield so that I can get to the top). I realize that the top half is already black, but I'd like to squirt a little paint on it just to make sure that it matches.

BTW Blackened, your interior turned out real nice.

The dash was really pretty easy to dye i had everything pulled out of my car because i was putting in new carpet. I used the Dupli color vinyl and carpet dye on the dash and i used Fuzion platic paint on the platic stuff like the console, i need to finish up a few pieces hopefully this weekend. I will post some pics i have a ton from different stages of the process. I will say though the carpet swat was a pain in the ass to get it in there its not as molded as they say it is.

Thanks,
So you actually removed the dash?

How hard was that?

And I know what you mean about the carpet, I already swapped mine and it took a good part of a day.

No he had the seats and center console and all that out of the car. The dash was still in place. It is not that bad just tape off the windshield and anything else you dont want overspray on. I would suggest doing it when its a little warmer out so you can have your windows down. I still have a little bit of smell if my windows have been up for a couple days.
