you need to either change the pinion flange (swap the one from your old SRA) or swap the final part of the cobra's IRS driveshaft onto your driveshaft for it to work.

Other than that, it's just bolt in bolt out, make sure you got the ABS brake sensor wires and the brake hoses, you'll need to adapt your hard lines to mate to the brake hoses but it shouldn't be a big deal, just bend them around a socket a few times to take up the extra length until you can bolt them in, make sure they won't get pinched by anything in the IRS as it moves.

I did my swap in about 4 hours, on jackstands, in my driveway, by myself...I do have air tools.

2 holes need to be drilled on each side to mount the cradle securely.

mount the brackets with the old quad shock bolt locations, then drill up through the trunk and get some grade 8 bolts, nuts, and wide washers. Start with a smaller pilot hole to make it easier...

can you possibly put pics of this up?? ive thought about doing this on my 95 but would like to see what all is involved before diving in to it blindly. whats about the average cost of getting everything to do the swap???

Didnt mean to steal the thread, just reading it made me think of the questions!!

brake line mods on a `97, your T will be in the center rather than on the passenger side, the idea is the same you'll just need different length lines.

cradle bolts, the ones going straight up had to be drilled, I dropped my gas tank to give me room for my large drill, so I replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel filler tube gasket on the side of the tank while I was at it.

ABS sensor wires come through the floor under the back seat lower cushion -

I had to drill out the chassis of my car where the front of the IRS bolts to, in order to use the larger 14mm bolts that are recommend to reduce the 'cobra clunk' while shifting, as the smaller bolts can let the front of the IRS unit move slightly.
(stock SRA bolt on left, larger IRS specific front bolt on right)

easiest way to install the unit is to bolt in the front first -

And use a jack under the pumpkin to swing the rear of the cradle up into the brackets.

I made my own lines. Was real cheap. The only thing was the fitting that goes from the hatd line to the rubber line. It was real hard to find.

Interesting, I'll also be starting an IRS swap soon. I'm sure we all will bounce questions off of each other!
