Is it Possible?

Lately I've been calculating my mpg (who hasn't). My odometer gear is broken and I'm awaiting a new piece. I've calculated my exact routes I've driven since I filled up IE: gas station to home. / home to store(+return trip). And for the most part its highway driving. 60-63 max. Based on that ROUGH math I'm looking at 26+/- MPG. I even have a small exhaust leak at the right header (ticks when warm). This is all without A/c.

If this is so this mpg was better than the 6. It must of had some serious issues.

I always assumed I wouldn't get anything higher than 20 on a good day.

idk about 26... especially with 4.10's...

Stock gears at ~60MPH I would say is possible to get 26MPG but not on 4.10's

lolz, I guess my sig is misleading those are the mods I have planned. Yes stock everything around 120-130k miles.

i just got 19mpg's . mostly hwy,70-80mph, with gears.

I got a little bit better mpg's with my o/r h but I got tired of changing it out twice a year.
only 1-2 mpg's though. but slowing down from 80 to 75 also gave me 1 mpg better also.

I try and do a lot of coasting. Seems to help.

I've made 27.5 on a tank once... just once though. I can hit 24 if I discipline myself not to jump on the gas for the whole tank.

Just made a round trip to Calif...I got 23 & 24 MPG but I was driving it for enjoyment not best mileage...I HAVE gotten 25 & 26 several times all freeway & no winding it out. Here's a kicker, on the son's '04 STOCK Mach 1 we get 26 most of the time (freeway) & have hit 29 twice & 30 MPG once!!

I made a trip in my old 6 from fort bend TX (galveston) to Cali and doing 5 under maintained only 30 mpg.
then again yours is a 5.0 with 2.73's?

Ive gotten up to 24mpg on my 94gt with full bolt-ons,full exhaust and 3.73s.

I feel so left out. My freaking instrument panel is near useless. Everything has stopped working pretty much lol. Glad the spedo/oil pressure/temp still works.. the rest are broke.. sigh. Cant even see how much gas i got now.
