Is it safe to run with out a thermostat i mean i live in the valley way down south of tx like next to southpadri island where its always HOT its rare it gets cold down here and im not runnning one but i heard that its safe but ive also heard that it is i just wanted it from a mustang owners point of view :dance:
I did it for awhile but your car was designed to operate at a certain temperature and it was designed to reach that temp in a certain amount of time. When metal gets hot, it expands. If your block doesn't get hot quick enough, the cylinders stay "contracted." This puts ALOT of "squeeze" on the piston and rings and can wear out cylinder walls prematurely. Something to think about. When I dropped my motor off at my machinist, that was the first thing he said to me "Good on ya."
