is this enough for bottom 12s?

well got my pi motor installed, and tuned on 150 shot. going to the track on sunday for funday sunday, on street tires of course, do ya guys think I have enough for bottom 12s, maybe even high 11s? ill grab the kit hopfully about 2500rpms in 1st gear and hope it holds, it did last time on my npi motor

its an auto car on street tires. so we shall see. going sunday and they usually prep really good

oh well auto can either be your best friend or biggest enemy depending on how you have it setup.

On street tires I think you are gonna blow the tires off in first gear when the spray hits which is gonna kill your time if that happens....

You still have stock gears and converter I assume?

If you roll it out of the hole and let it eat in 2nd youll be in that range, vut it will mph 115+ ,prob

our track here hooks like a dream now that we have new track owners. I can leave flat footed on motor and not spin at all, once the car sets im going to try and grab the kit as early as possible in 1st.

Stock 3.08 in rear still? Should go to a 3.73 or something. Will help a good bit.

Id think you will be close though if you hook...maybe mid 12s at worst

well today went rather well, im pretty happy with the car, needs little more work on the tune and I think it has am 12.0 or 11.9x in her

car is bone stock with a bone stock 2003 gt motor, stock rear gear 3.27 I believe, stock size touring tire, has mufflers and eliminated the cats....on a 150 wet kit

Looks good. Better 60 and 11s are there. 3.73# could get you there

yea I need to have my converter re worked to stall around 3500 so I can leave on the kit. gears are a big possibility but the car is at about the top of 3rd gear already, so if I went gears it would deffinantly shift into 4th and kill some time

You shouldn't.... I was going 121 on 3.73s with a stock tire 26 inch. Is youre converter locking in 3rd?

A higher stall will help

I did a 1.64 with 3.73s anda 3800 stall

im not sure what top of 3rd gear is, I could probably do a 3.73 with a 28'' tall tire and still be top of third.

the 1.85 is my best to date.

did you foot brake the car up into the rpms at all or leave off idle? I bring the car up about 1k rpms and leave, should I try to bring it up higher?

I footbreak it as high as it would go before breaking the tires loose.

A 26 inch tire and 3.73 at 6k is like 122 or something....you have 3,27s you said, you should be like 140+ in 3rd dude

gonna head to the track again after I take some more weight out of the car and get an actual tire under there and will try footbraking it as high as possible to see if it helps
