Is this PI intake trashed?

well just got a PI intake used and am a little worried that there is some extreme wear. the inside of the intake channles leading to the top of the heads are really ruff and have like wrinkles in the inside of them and not smooth whatsoever except in certain spots. is this normal wear and tear or did this intake get fried? lol.. could i sand this problem to fix it?
I started sanding and its starting to smooth out but my hands are paying the price haha

new ones can be had for under $200 , not worth buying a used one unless you got it for $30 bucks and in that case brake clean it and throw it on the car and run it till you get the $30 dollars worth out of it or till it fails

hard to tell by the pics but it may be carbon buildup try spraying some carb clean or brake clean down their and see if it starts to break up.

the black junk is the exhaust recirculation. it is normal. you can clean it, but in 30 minutes, it will be black again.

as for the "problems" it appears to be fromt he casting process. Unless those are *cracks* i wouldnt worry about it. Some people purposely "rough up" their intake manifolds on N/A cars to add turbulance to the air entering the engine. The more turbulant air *supposidly* makes the air and fuel mix more efficiently.
