what are they for? how do i find out if my new heads and block are R or W? If im not mistaken the valve covers from this NPI motor will work on my PI motor?
All NPI's are Romeo. There is no more proven strength in either R or W head design. It doesn't matter if you use Windsor heads on a Romeo block (or vise verse). I'm running W heads on a R block.
Why wouldnt they, how do you feel they are different. (romeo and windsor do use a different number of bolts for the valve cover so you may need to see the other style. but other then that npi and pi timing covers are the same.
count the bolts. you might have romeo when you need windsor (or vise-versa)
luckily those valve covers are super common and super cheep.... go to any ford-part sales place (www.cjponyparts.comhttp://, jegs maybe, summit maybe, local dealer, local junk yard) and snag a set
he not get them over the back valves? or cam craddles? i do that too when i put mine on, but i figured it was because mine were so much larger than the stock ones. lol.
