If you make 800 rwhp on a 2v with a KB you'll be doing really really good.

A more realistic number is 500. And I can go through your 4r70 for that.

"4r70" ?

and the 2.6L is built for 15-20 PSI, which after built heads and lower end on the 2vs KB has, they are making roughly 750-800...

I am the type of person who wants to make sure that the tranny and rear end dont blow up... im having the heads build for 500 RPM higher than the KB max (6000) so the valvetrain should be fine...

anyways. Im hoping for 700/750. :)

and lets put the 4l85e on the back burner... img etting the horsepower itch and i dont want to wait for a long time for the V10. lol. im building the 4.6 for sure now. :)

What kind of trans do you want first off.

leaning toward a t56 viper.... is that wise choice?

It's rated at 500 flywheel tq, any trans you pick, is going to be under what you are shooting for.

But let's talk budget, isn't 6k the total budget for the shortblock, heads, blower, trans?

heads: $2,000
stroker kit: $1,300
custom pistons: ?? ( need lower compression, stroker kit comes with 9:1 pistons)
blower: $5,000
trans is the next one... :) I plan on buying the tranny first... I want a manual transmission, since my V10 will be the auto :) LOL

Why don't you give me a call tomorrow, 440-915-6114 and if I don't answer, leave me a message (make sure to let me know when it's ok to call back), we can go over this as a package ok?

We ran a quaife modified t56 style in both of our road race cars. They were only around the 550 rwhp mark but they never gave us any issues even during 6hr endurance runs. i will tell you this though the vette's was $7500 and the camaro's was $7000. More than likely they wouldn't be suitable for speed shifting/drag racing although we did run the vette w/ a 200 shot in the Texas Mile.

I ran a Viper spec T56 in my personal car for a year with over the rating, but you are correct. A heavy gear train and crappy synchro design precludes any powershifting.

The biggest part of a manual transmissions life is in how it's driven. A T5 can live behind 500 hp 5.0's, or die behind 70 hp 2.3's.

On my 2000, I had blower cams and every bolt on you could imagine and was running 15psi on my KB and was making 568rwhp on race fuel mix. No way youll ever get to that kind of power

Dont know where you saw that kind of power listed on their site. This is exactly what is stated by KB. This is there cometition model and of course you will need to get modifications done to switch over to pi heads. Im trying to find the site where non-pi heads are ported and have great flow numbers that you can put the KB made for your ride onto.

On our Dynojet, the 2.6L kit at 20 psi made 682HP on a 8.1 compression ratio 4.6 GT with ported heads, cam and headers. That was 30 more HP than our Cobra test car at the same 20 psi boost. Obviously, the Kenne Bell and Ford 4.6 make for a great combination

Also tranny wise, I had my aode built w/ manual valve body, 2800 street stall(was at full boost at 2200rpms) and line lock. You could put a monkey into the car and run it consistant.
