So..

Im talking to my buddy who has a mystic cobra (sn95 style) and told him about how I have to sell my car and whatnot, showed him my video..told him the problems. We looked into it, thought about it..and realized something that may make sense, or a possibility ( I really hope..not banking on it..)

What we think..is that the cam may be hitting the valve cover? Sounds stupid, yes..However, the valve cover has wear from where the cam lobes (bigger lobes/intake?) line up on the valve cover, and not only does it show the line, theres a bit of a groove on it. Possibility of the noise? Im not sold on thinking its PTV. Or timing related. Theres just no way.

I tightened down my valve covers prettttty tight. Also before had gaskets that were used..so not sure if they were sitting right. Idk. Just thinking outside of the box and hoping...

Take the Cam cover off and and crank it up. make sure you have some rags or towels between the block and strut tower to catch oil. You can run it with the cover off to see if the noise continues. I did this when I was having some valve train rattle and was able to make sure everything was working as it should.

Try it, you will be sorry if you don't.

Cut some cardboard out to fit inside of where the valve cover sits so the oil drains back into the engine.
