300 hp minimum for the top end kit. isnt that setting the bar a little to high. if i am wrong correct me but 5.0l didnt come from the factory with high hp. at best they were rated 215-225hp at the crank so with an avg. 15%-25% decrease in in rwhp they would make about 190ish hp at the wheels completely stock. so a 100hp gain at the wheels from a HCI and tune with stock internals? to me the 70hp gain i got seems reasonable
not setting the bar a little high. dude, you just spent $2500 on that kit correct? no way you should be happy with 260. you coulda spent 600 on a NOS kit and made that and saved $1900.
depending on suporting mods, i.e. headers and exhaust, throttle body, air intake kit, injectors and if you have an auto or manual, 300 is not to high. and you have to make sure that when you put the lower on, the gasket's didn't slide down and partially cover the intake ports, 300 shouldn't be an issue with a good tune.
on my old setup i made 299 to the tire with a stock cam, trickflow heads, 1.7rr's, track heat intake, equal length shorties, off road h, flows, pullies, 30# inj, afm power pipe and a 90mm pro-m meter through a 5-speed.
