....but can`t for love nor money get the fuel filter off. Done a search and need apparently, a fuel filter removal tool but cant find that either. How long is a fuel filter good for? I still want to change mine as I had $30 of $hit gas put through her a couple of month ago.
Any pointers for removal without damage appreciated. :headbang:

I wonder if my local Ford dealer could help me. Probably rob me blind .

Most definitely need the line disconnect tool brother. The lines have spring locks in them if i'm not mistaken. You should be able to pick one up at any auto parts store (got mine at NAPA). Shouldn't be over $10 or $15 bucks. I don't really know the life of a filter, I just changed mine out after the car sat for the winter. Google "ford fuel line disconnect tool", it should give you an idea of what they look like prices. Hope that helps ya!

Once you have the line release tool it's a 2 minute job, I bought the plastic ones at my local carquest

I bought mine at Advance Auto. Bought a 4 in 1 (different sizes) turned out my size wasn't 1 of the four so I had to buy another one that was the right size lol.....

Are we talking fuel filter or something else? The last two mustangs I changed the fuel filter on just had pins holding the lines on the filter, used a Flathead and was done. What do you need a tool for?

You need the tool to release the fuel line, it's held on with a spring type fastener which is very tough to remove without the cheap plastic tool

I tried using the plastic quick disconnects and got frustrated, i've used the metal tool before and it was easy. next time i do mine im using the metal tool, its a bit more expensive but its better than the cheap plastic fittings they sell you.

Just b/c you guys say you don't need a tool doesn't mean someone else doesn't. I have done it both ways before, I use the line tool. It makes it 10x easier and you don't take the chance of marring anything up. What would you rather do spend 15 bucks on a tool or replace a hole line.

I didn't even know you needed a disconnect tool until after I redid mine. I used a flathead but I was really careful because I was afraid to puncture my line.
