Kenne Bell 5.0 question

Hey everyone. I have a huge question! My buddy went to a car show today in Columbia City, IN and got pix of a KB'd 5.0. Here's my question. What the hell size is this blower? I don't think that I have seen one of this size on a 5.0 before. Any help is appreciated!

no it doesnt its still a 5.0. Liters go up w/ engine size. Supercharges dont change your engine size. Thats probably a KB 1.5L It looks big but its not really a big blower.

Very nice! Does anyone know if you can use a bigger one on there? Also, what does it sound like? My buddy has a 2.8 on his 03 Mach 1 and my other buddy is putting a 2.6 (i think) on his v6? The one on the Mach has that wonderful whine, just wondered if these did too?

Yeah thats what I figured.. But What do the liters mean on a supercharger?

I think the liters on the blower just tell how much air it displaces, just like an engine.

I believe the largest blower KB made for the 5.0 was a 2.2L, now they just make a 2.1. And yes they whine if you're running enough boost.

Awesome!!! What kind of boost do the usually put out? Also what kind of numbers would you get with one on a 347 stroker with a decent set of heads and cam? Lookin for ideas for and engine build for this winter.

I used to have a Kenne Bell 1500 or 1.5L

They whine...make instant boost and are fun BUT are definitley not big power makers on pushrod engines. I highly recommend a meth kit with them because they create A LOT of heat.

If your thinking of supercharging a stock block 347...becareful with how much power you make. A 347 has already compromised the strength of the block.

Thats what I was wondering. I am thinking of going through either CHP or DSS for a 347 short block with some AFR heads. But, I'm just in the beginning stages of planning so this all helps! Thanks!

Yeah thats right. The KB Blowers are mesured in liters as far as size just line engines in our cars are.

347 8.5 to 1 compression gt40 heads e303 cam and 9 lbs of boost i make 385.5 rwhp and 491.7 twtq max torque at 3300 max hp at 5500

apparently there's a number engraved on that silver band of metal at the front of the blower that tells what size it is. who knew lol
