Kenne Bell 'Complete' Kit Advice Appreciated

I've recently blown ANOTHER transmission. This one was defective however, and is covered under warranty. A fancy-dancy tax refund has enabled me to being piecing together a Kenne Bell 6 psi kit in the meantime. I need help figuring out all the hidden costs of putting this together, as a tax refund only will last so long. (And maybe this thread will help someone else looking for a 'complete' list)
So far I've managed to come up with the following :
  • Kenne bell Kit itself - comes with charger and bp valve (OPTIONAL W/ KIT - boostapump, fuel injectors, and cai)
  • tuning chip/software? (will moates 1/4horse and a dyno tune do the job?)
  • new hood for proper clearance (but how much is needed?)
  • obviously 8 spark plugs, one heat range cooler than normal
  • gaskets (intakes, etc. anything that gets opened and closed. for security)
this leaves me with my current FWI and the intake sensors. What will i need to support this supercharger? i'm ASSUMING that 60lb injectors are adequate, since thats what KB offers, or are there better/cheaper alternatives? With regards to the MAF and throttlebody, what have some of you who have run KB use, or recommend? I believe I'll need to upgrade both of them, but to what exactly? and will the upgraded parts still work with my FWI, or am i required to run bigger?
So questions IN CONCLUSION:
1.) Amount of Hood Clearance? (i've heard anything between 2.5" to 3.25")
2.) Moates + tune as an effective (and ONLY) computer management?
3.) Boost-a-pump+upgraded fuel injectors for only fuel upgrades? (need fuel rails, etc?)
4.) What MAF+Throttlebody, and will my FWI need to be changed?
Thank you for reading through this mess, and when it gets here, ill be sure to put up some pics of the install (which hopefully only takes a day or two.) OH YEAH, my goal hp/tq wise is just whatever 6psi can get me, i dont need to blow anymore trannys or motors (even though i know i will) so basically, i dont need to be setup to accept more mods, i need to be setup for as 'safe' as a blower can get.

My buddy has this kit on his 95 cobra Nd it overheads all time even with a 160 thermostat and up graded fans..due to tons of heat soak bcuz the kit isn't interposed...you would be better off with a procharger or vortec...just my .02 cents

What is the KB kit number? The BP valve isn't included on any of the 94-95 kits. It should fit under a stock hood and if you have a 255lph fuel pump and 42 lb injectors you will be okay and won't need the the options.

TS1000-94 i believe is the number. i'll do some double checking on that bp valve then to make sure. so with those, fuel should be fine, now just tuning/airflow
thanks btw!

My Flowzilla has an internal bypass built in. My setup includes a 90mm Lightning MAF, 42lb injectors and a Walbro 255lph pump; don't need a Boost-a-Pump. If you don't run a spacer under the blower I think it should fit under the stock hood. A dynotune with an SCT chip is what I'd recommend for the tune, too.

Mine is the TS1000-94. That's the Blowzilla for the standard intake. Depending on the tuning device you might want to consider using MAP vs. MAF. I'm not 100% certain but IIRC the duty cycle on mine with 42 lb injectors is a little over 70%.

oh, and i assume im going to need the intake elbow as well? i've already figured out the 90mm maf, 70mm throttle, and 255lb pump thanks to your help (as far as what to use), but im having trouble justifying any 42lb injectors. most kits run about $250-260, while the 60lbs KB offers are only $299. so far, all of these independent parts (maf,tb,fp) are almost half of KB's stuff, but it seems their injectors are right on..?
sct vs moates?
