I want to run a supercharger to get to my HP goals

Engine will be a BOSS blocked 306 or 331, AFR 185's, custom blower cam, 80mm MAF, 75-80mm TB, short tube headers, x-pipe, and complete fuel system upgrade. I will also get water/meth injection.

If kenne belle, I will run a ported and polished stock cobra lower intake(GT40)
If vortech, I have no clue on intake manifolds

My goal is to have 450-500 RWHP that can be driven everyday.
Thanks in advance for the replys.

I think KB is the coolest thing ever also i heard lots of people say that roots are better for street driving
i love the low end power and that sweet KB whine though
my vote is for the KB
KB :smitten:

the KB is awesome even though i went with Vortech and love it as well but that relentless torque off the line and that whine. if youve got the extra cash go with the kb. either one is a great choice no doubt

I gotta agree, i believe the KB would be the sickest thing ever. seems like everybody's running a vortech. Would be route i would go if money allowed.

I would go centri becuase your engine is already gonna make a shit load of low end torque/power.

Your gonna be at the top of your rpms in a second anyway and the centri blower will be more effiecient up top where you need it.

You would have no traction at all with a kennebell

I do like the procharger, probably even more than the KB and the vortech, but they are soo damn pricey!

ill say with my kb set up, stock engine, never took off a valve cover, i make 450 ft/lbs @2600 rpm, and hold over 400 ft/lbs till about 4400 rpm. hp does drop after 4800 so high rpm just makes alot of noise. i have 3.73 gears and dont blow the tires like you think you would, but im still running the stock clutch with 70k on it, and dont dump it cause i dont want to lose it. also has a very sweet whistle, very noticable even over my headers, no cat, pro dump xhaust. of corse i want a turbo setup, had this for 7 years now.

I talked to Rick Anderson about this and he told me a vortech is way easier to tune because it runs a lot cooler. He also said that the reason the kenne bell run hotter on our cars versus say the the 03 04 cobras, is because they have an aftercooler between the supercharger and the lower intake. So if you do run a kenne bell I would suggest having a good way to dissipate heat. Good Luck

You could hit up Ponydown and check out their turbo kits. Get into boost sooner than the Vortechs do, make a ****load more power than either supercharger you mentioned and are just all around more efficient and better.

But out of the 2 blowers you mentioned its honestly up to you. Vortech will make more peak, KB will come on faster and still make a ton of power. The turbo is better than both IMO.
